Psycho, Great job man! Hope all that medical crap is behind you.
Hopefully, I'll see you and the car in Fitchburg next spring at the swap meet.
I'm building one like it, and I'm sure you could keep me straight.
What was the MASS. RMV like...any pointers?

  4. Thanks all for the kind words..
just read through the whole thing, sweet build man. I had my reservations in the beginning since all that beer was in the pics but turned out great.. lol

glad to see you still kept the girl during all of this. its hard on relationships building cars

Yea My ol lady was a trooper throughout the build.. Women who dont mind the garage are hard to find..

Welp.. not really any pointers yet for the RMV.. I used my 65 chevy truck plates on the roadster.. Have yet to go to broadwaytitle.com to get a title for her.. Im actually waiting to see if i can get a junk Model A 4 Banger block so i can get numbers off it.. MA RMV is a nightmare..

Great Looking car & a very well documented buildup - Many Thanks for posting your hard efforts. I especially love the windscreen

    cheers

    Bob

thanks Bob.. Made it out of a 37-39 Ford Windshield. Cut bout 8'' out and made the bottom Duvall style out of sheet metal and small round stock.. much like the round stock on a shopping carriage , Best part is it still comes apart on each end and the top.. also made a way to slide the whole windshield unit out. But able to get real glass in there this winter..

As far as the Mass RMV goes don't even bother unless you have a registration and bill of sale from another state that does not issue titles.

Heres the procedure I am going through to title a car in Mass without getting totally fucked. It involves having a contact in New Hampshire where they don't title cars as old as ours.

Step 1. Draw up Bill of Sale (aka bos) that sells car to friend in NH
Step 2. Friend gets VIN verification form for NH RMV and has a friendly NH
    inspection station fill out.
Step 3. Friend registers car in NH
Step 4. Friend sells car back to you with new bos and NH registration in
    his name.
Step 5. Bring Paperwork to friendly Mass auto dealer and have them officially sell the car to you. I'll explain why in a minute if you don't have a friendly Mass auto dealer go directly to step 6.
Step 6. Go to Mass RMV and register your car. Mass will now title it. You will have to pay Reg fee, title fee, exise tax and sales tax on A1 primo condition value regardless of your cars condition, unless of course you were able to do Step 5 then you pay sales tax on whatever your friendly dealer sold it to you for! Step 5 is important a friend of mine jsut got slammed with a 900 dollar sales tax bill on his primered 29 Roadster Pick Up... OUCH!

A smart person might notice that the car never needs to leave the garage for any of this. Now get to work and welcome to the Commonwealth!

  7. So begins the Hot Rod Chicken Dance.. MA is a FUBAR state.. i need numbers.. no numbers on the frame..so I still have to find a junk 4 banger block.. buy that then if i went your route pay a deuce... then MA RMV will still look up value of a 27 t roadster..so its going to cost me close to 1k to register.

Went to MA-RMV to do the truck, showed em title that i paid 1,500.. they charged me sales tax from NADA value of 9k... fucked up.. so no matter what you need to empty your wallet to register your ride.. RI is a non title state. I minus well keep it registered in RI

you can get the guy to put down that you paid say.. 1000 for the car, thats $70 tax.If the bill of sale is from a legit dealer they don't question it,Its when some jamook off the street walks in with a BOS for a 57 T-bird & says that he bought it for $300 that they question it!

Just found this thread, must say the car looks great, and it looks like you spent some quality time with your buddies.
That was second gear that stripped off that cluster by the way.
    Keep up the great work.
