I painted that A-sedan back when it was being built. It used to be Tommy Bacon's old car and it was orange in the 80's, if anybody remembers. It was chopped and also shortened so the back window wasn't so long. When it first came out with the new blue finish, it had 4-deuces, then a Hilborn fuel injection setup that ran real nice on the street until it filled a cylinder with gas and bent a pushrod; back to carburetors after that. The car was sold and is now in Japan.

  2. Yep that's the sedan. Tommy had three sets of wheels to change the look from hi-tech to traditional. And sectioning the rear so that front and rear windows were the same length had a lot of people scratching their heads wondering what was different about the car. Then the re-do with that traditional color, scallops and four deuces sealed it for me as one of my favorites.

    Dennis,
Why am I not surprised you'd know a detail like that. You're right, the rear window was shortened to match the front one, and the car looked right. The nice thing about those kinds of modifications is that they're subtle; nobody can really put their finger on what looks different. Leaves people scratching their heads.

Another car that was like that was the "cop shop coupe". It had a lot going on to make it look like that, but it was hard to figure out what they did. I always throught that was the best '33 coupe ever built.

  4. WHAT A SIN!!!!!!! How dare they, that car should be brought back to it's orignal history! It's funny to see cars from the 60's that have been redone, it's almost like a sin in some eyes. That car really turned the eye and marched in the retro rod look! I rememeber seeing that car at York, still in my mind! I also remember seeing that car going about 70-75mph and breaking lose the tires on a major freeway from Lake George to Mass. Old Timmers run. Makes me sad to hear about that car being torn apart, some people just don't know what they have in their hands! SOMEONE GO SLAP THAT GUY! Again it shows Cali and west coast (sorry guys) that east coast was doing it first! From racing to hot rodding, you will alaways be the second coast! Thats not a knock!

My friend Dave owns the Deuce now and drives it everywhere. He takes excellent care of the car and since he has several cars only drives it once in a while. Always a crowd attraction. I will post a picture when I find it.

Welcome aboard Jim. I say the "Full House" roadster at the Wildwood N.J. Boardwalk Nationals years ago. The thing just blew me away. My dad had told me about guys putting 40 dashes in deauces and A's over the years and when I finally saw it done right I just flipped. One of the most cool roadsters ever!

This is probably a really dumb question for Hambers but exactly which Olds did those hubcaps come off? They would be perfect for my ride. The ones I see for sale on E Bay don't have the center emblem.

Thanks for the compliments, KOZ. The hubcaps with the emblems like I had on the Full House roadster were genuine original '53-'55 Olds Fiestas. They're expensive when you can find them, but right now might be a good time to get somenow that prices are soft. A lot of people need money and are selling off extra parts...and the prices are lower than usual right now.

The ones you see without the emblem in the center, by the way, are the repros. They're cheaper than originals and they're real nice....but if you must have the real thing, they're around. You see them at swap meets sometimes. A beat-up cap with a good center might be worth grabbing if you see any, just to get the center emblem. --Jim

Jim,Good to hear you came on board.
I'm the guy who bought the FULL HOUSE off of you.
And I kept the car the way I bought it for the remainder of the time I owned the car
I think it was in 99 I sold the car to JERRY and I kept the:
    Wheels,Tires Hubcaps and 6x2's.
That was the deal we made because I felt the 32 was much better at the time
We then traded and I ended up with the 36 CABR.
I Still have the caps from the 32,
    wheels and tires also.
But sold the 6x2's to help offset the changeover cost of the 36.
    I did enjoy the 32 .
this is what I ended up with
    Later FRANK

  17. JIM! How are you? I've mentioned your name more often on line then even I care to mention! I'll be giving you a call during the week for sure. Jim, who became a member here after someone hooked me up with his website, doesn't drop in very often but we stay in contact through e-mails quite a bit.
He still has your artwork over his mantle at home. The one on the front cover in this thread. We've got quite a bit to catch up on!

    Give my love to Barbara!

  18. Jim hasn't been by the forum lately. If you'd like to get in contact with him, there is a post with his website. You can contact him through there.

  20. I'm very firmiliar with that shot. I took one almost exactly like it, cropped it and Jim Malaro, who also posted did the artwork on the cover of my old mag which is on page one of this thread.

Your 36 is nice but the Full House was absolutely tops when it came to a period perfect roadster. Just my .02 and no offense meant.

Mr. Inglese. I took these in Jun ,93 at Worcester and I didnt know until now that they were yours! Growing up in Denver,Co I read @ your injection products and always liked "the look" of them. Still in awe that Im even writing to you! Anyway, hope everyone likes them. Guess the guy who bought didnt appreciate the piece of rollin art he had!

  22. Great photos Autofocus, I'll pass the info to Jim. He hasn't been by as far as I know since the last time he posted. I am sure he'd be interested in seeing these photos.
The sedan was not Jim's car. Read though the prior posts for more info.

Man, what nice shots of my old car. Thanks Autofocus! They really bring back some good memories. That meet in Mass was one of many I took the car to, up and down the east coast. The best thing about Bob Moscoffian's events was that we got a chance to cut loose a little. I was always looking for an excuse to open-up the carburetors. That 301 ran real strong.

When we were in Worcestor one year, I did a burnout down the hill into the tunnel with my wife in the car and she almost had a heart attack. That was the last time she rode with me for burnouts.

The pictures you posted were actually taken at another Moscoffian event close by, but I can't remember the town. It was a good event; smaller than Worcestor.

Emil, thx for sending me the pictures. You guys are the best.

Hey guys, I'm working on my winter build of a roadster which I want to "sit" like the Full House. Would anyone have any details such as was the front axle a 4" or 5" drop and wheel and tire combo details that might assist me in getting the proper stance?

Thanks for bringing this one back to the top. This car is still one of my favorites. I've never seen any pictures of it in black primer.....I'm in love.

The axle in the front of my old Full House was a 4" dropped tube. I always wished it was an I-beam, but that's the way I got the car as an unfinished car and I left it that way. The froint tires were 560-15's as I recall, and I'm not sure what I had in it for rears.

I have pictures of it as I boughrt it, and then over the next 2 years as it became the Full House.

My Full House was sold to somebody in PA who ruined it. They took the fully-operating six Stromberg 97's off, as well as the mint original Olds Fiesta caps, and also removed the "Full House" graphics, in favior of some run-of-the mill flames.

The car is in CA now, and I have the email address of the owner. If you want to call me for his email, I will give it to you;I would rather not post it out of respect for his privacy. The car shows up at various west coast events.

That sure was a bitchin car, and I redlined that balanced and blueprinted 301 at 7200 rpm, every chance I got.

Thanks for remembering my old Full house. If you want to contact me, my phone is 203-623-0659. Glad to help.

    Sincerely,
    Jim Inglese

Some of you may know my blue A roadster which is on here, search Koz roadster, which I have sold to Fryguy. I'm in the process of building a duece that is in the manner of, but not a clone of the "Full House". I'll post up when I get a little further along. If I can get mine to sit half as good as Jimbos' I'll be thrilled. I've been building and huckstering cars since I was 12 years old and I'm finally getting my ultimate ride! I appreciate the help I get from the HAMB guys in my quest each time I start a new build. This will be my last one, I'm just getting too damn old! I've already sold or given away most of the machinery in my shop, (which was a lot), and the rest will go when this ones finished, less my general maintanance stuff of course.

I do need a few things if anybody has stuff they are willing to sell-

A decent set of Fiestas, origionals, not the repros.
A decent '46 to '48 Ford wheel with a good horn ring and the small parts.
A workable '40 dash and anything that goes with it.

Pretty much everything else I have.

    I'll keep you posted.
