    Hey Allan,

I just wanted to say a big, official THANK YOU for being so generous with your time yesterday and helping me find the perfect props for my Hospital waiting room. When you said you guys were the biggest prop house in the world YOU WEREN'T KIDDING... OMG you are running an empire, a country, a continent!! (A planet??)

Guys, Allan's prop house is HUUUUUGE, I kept thinking to myself, as I was running behind Allan trying to keep up with him, "Boy, if Allan takes a quick turn in one of those aisles and I lose him, I will NEVER EVER find my way out of here."

You name it, he has it in his prop house. I was so amazed...

Not only will Allan so kindly help me with my hospital waiting room props but he also had a few props to create my chapel shot, showing Johnny's mother lighting a candle and praying for her son's life to be spared.

I walked out of Omega props with a smile from here to here and I think my feet were actually floating above the ground...

    Another Deuce of spades miracle.

    THANK YOU ALLAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this freakin' rules. i can't wait to see it.

  3. I sold some old car parts on Ebay figuring I would but more old car parts. Well, I figured fifty bones spent to support this project (sent through PayPal a few minutes ago) was supporting Hot Rodding at least as much as buying more old stuff!
I can't wait to see my name in lights! :D

    YOU ROCK ALLAN :D...

I'm going to give a call MOnday. I think we are going to have to go for the wood benches instead of the more modern chairs. We looked at the footage of the actual hospital room, which was filmed in July, and it suddenly dunned on me that the hospital room looks very 40's, so more indicative of a rural hospital, or an older hospital and that the more modern seats might not fit continuity wise. I showed the footage to my two assistants/volunteers who are currently helping me build the hospital waiting room set. They both agreed that the more "old" looking wood benches will fit in better with the other scenes, and make it seem more like the same hospital... I hope this is not too much of an unconvenience... I'll call you Monday, in case you don't see this post... I think the 2 benches will, in the end, work better.

    Many thanks and blessings...

here are a few screengrabs of the hospital room, let me know what you think:

I thought they were more appropriate as well. Good call. The lamp is a bit "mod" as well, you might want to change that up as well . . .

hi Allan! We built the set over the week-end. Painted the walls slightly off white to match the offwhite hospital room. We built the glass block wall (looks so neat!). I agree with the comment about lights. I am going to forward the photos I took to my historical consultants and see what they think. Not sure which of the light fixtures you and I looked at would work best.

I'll let you know when they get back to me...

"Doc" Parsons and rodder THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

All of you guys, you have no idea how much your support means to me. It really gives me wings. :D

Today I lined up a real good swing venue to film my second swing scene. It has been over 50 years (to the best of my knowledge) since lindy hop and hotrods have been reunited in a film. I am so blessed to know the #1 lindy hoppers in the world and they all want to be in the film. What a ride making this film has been :D... I truly feel I am on some sort of sacred mission, kinda like a crusade or something... There is a sense of a higher purpose and everyone who has been on the set or involved in this film has sensed this phenomenum, and commented on it, too.

    I feel very blessed.

    Thank you again!

I put the wood slat back benches on hold for you today. Have some ideas about lighting. Let's try to get this fleshed out by early next week.

Sounds good... :) Oh I just thought about the tables, I guess we will need something different now as a corner table... Dark wood? But I am not too worried because I know you have it in that UNIVERSE, you so modestly call a "prop house"...

    ;) :D

OK, so I am diving head first into electrical. Got an old HOTROD magazine early 60's manual covering car electrical from A to Z and absorbing it like a sponge. So far it is fascinating.

It reminded me of how I read a mechanic's book when I was in highschool, hiding it under my desk, during chemistry... :D

No, really, I DID do that.

Loved everything in it until I got to the differential part and then my head went BLANK. I just could not understand it from the typed words in the book alone and that book had no photos :(...

Anywhoo, I read my HOTROD magazine old manual until 1 AM last night. Learned all sort of neat stuff... Primary wires... Secondary wires... Resistance... Amperage... hehehehe I almost "sound" like I know what I am talking about now.

No, not quite, I still have another 40 pages to read.

They also talked about generators and regulators and although I don't have a generator, it was still fun to learn about them.

Talking about generator, my alternator is about to be booted out of the deuce. I am putting in a generator look alike alternator imposter LOL bought back in April from Speedway motor. Those suckers, for GM motors are HUGE.

And they say size doesn't matter?

I have been racking my brains out figuring out how to fit this huge device into my tiny engine compartment... On one side the radiator hose is in the way (but I am working on that) and on the other side, we have the tripower fuel block and possibly even the tri power linkage in the way...

At any rate, I bought an original mid fifties ramshorn last night for $9.99 that has the braket mount area on it, so if I decide to mount the gene on the driver's side on the exhaust manifold I now could. As an additional option.

So many headaches, so little time to solve them all and resume filming...

Where is Johnny Callaway when I need him? LOL After all that's HIS deuce, why doesn't he fix it himself? LOL ;)

Yeah, a nice fellow from the hamb and I have been exploring the possibilities of making some Tees. He's offered his help. I have some right now on my website through an internet company that makes each Tee they sell them (so no upfront money needed from me to make a bunch of T-shirts - I have no funds rigth now) but I make hardly anything on the sales so it defeats the purpose ...

The best way ot help the film is by making a simple donation to the film fund. Even as little as $20 will go a long way to help us feed crew, actors and cars.
