Anyone see the episode where Howard get's his "bachelor's pad" and has a party? Maybe it's just me but I expected the party to be some sort of *******'s party. Especially after he told Emmett that the party was for "singles only." It got really wierd when the party started and it was just Howard, Goober, Andy, and Helen. I was waiting for it to turn into an ****. Howard always seemed like he would be into that sort of thing.

Anyone have a pic of the sedan that Floyd and Barney were driving in the "Convicts-at-Large" episode? I asked if someone could identify it on the TAGS message board awhile back, and no one knew what it was..but of course I didn't have a screenshot..it may be a 35?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  5. Wally hisself was in an episode that aired here just yesterday or day before. A business man limps his Lincoln into town on a Sunday and want's it fixed right away. Andy takes him to see Wally at home but Wally don't work on Sunday's etc. etc. ... Anyway, there he was, the only time I ever remember seeing him.

Miss. Crump was cute, (early on anyway) and Barbera Eden is eternaly hot but none of 'em could hold a candle to Miss. Ellie. She was the prittiest girl in town and she gave away ice cream cones to little boy's. Oddly, my grand dad has always been a dead ringer for Andy and I recently found a portrate of my grand mother then she was in her early 20's and she was a dead ringer for Miss. Ellie, weird.

I gotta go, Andy just came on.

The episode with Otis getting the car is called "Hot Rod Otis" and is episode #115. He does not wreck the car, so it's a great show as all the Andy Griffith shows are.

Someone above mentions they would like to live in Mayberry, you can visit the real Mayberry, it's Mount Airy North Carolina. I have been there 3 times and the town is a blast to visit. Thelma Lou really does live there now, and it wouldn't be out of the question to run into her at the Snappy Diner. A friend of mine was there and talked with her at the Snappy Diner.

If you like the show go here for lots of information

LOL, One of my favorite! I've been meaning to register this user name on the HAMB for for my 12 year old for years. Figured why not now. Now all I have to do is get him down here to make an intro.

BTW, my next favorite quote from the show is from the episode Birdman Opie... "Well, Winkin'll tell Blinkin, Blinkin'll tell Nod, Nod'll tell Barney and Barney'll tell you."

    I love this thread!!

One of my favorite scenes from the Andy Griffith Show is from the episode that featured Barbara Eden. Andy, Floyd, the Mayor and a few other locals are hanging around in the barber shop when the bus arrives (from Raliegh?) and Barbara Eden's character steps off. They all cram in at the front window at Floyd's to get a better look and engage in a little wishful thinking.

There's a shot of Barbara in heels and a tight skirt walking away from the camera, making quite an impression on the boys. The Mayor makes a comment like, "You know, if I were a younger man..." and Floyd says something like, "If I weren't already happily married..." Then the camera moves in on Andy, who's got this slightly evil grin on his face, as he brilliantly observes, "No sir! That shore ain't a boy!"

If you don't already appreciate what a great actor Andy Griffith is, you need to see him in a role where he's playing a character who's the exact opposite of kindly Sheriff Andy Taylor. It may not be the easiest movie to find, but look for a copy of "A Face In The Crowd". It's a great, dark, B&W movie and before it's half way through you'll despise Griffth's character. By the end you'll hope he jumps from the window of his apartment building.

  16. and then there is the MOVIE "Make room for sargents"

    Unusual movie for it's time!

Dan Pic***o (Foiled Again), hipped me to this "film"....

You're right, you despise the guy, but it's a great study in how the American population can be led by the media and pop stars.

  18. Nah, that could never happen.
