"aceuh" had another TRR thread about belair plaza action
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312568&highlight=turkey+rod+run

Figured I would kick off one for anyone else, whom has general event pics.

Friday seemed to be a popular day fro last minute thrashes on getting ready for the big show. Even talked my lovely girlfriend Susan, into helping me detail my Olds. Dan was still working on the newly restored Crestline.
The hooligans attempted an early start, Saturday morning, but not without drama. Dumb****, me, walked out of the house without my registration papers, so had to fly back home. Meanwhile, Nads, Zor, and my buddies Dan, Eric and Jimmy had coffee and watched Youtube. Finally got going, but Zor jammed the shift linkage, in the '54 and they had to crawl underneath to fix it. Stopped for gas and where on our way. 20 minutes into the trip, my buddy Dan has overheating problems with his shoebox and had to retreat back to O-town, for a truck and trailer. Later on down the road, Nads Hot Rod was starving for fuel. Had to pull off the road and futz with the fuel pressure regulator. Well, 3 cars finally made it under their own power.

Just finished detailing my Olds and screwing some interior trim back in,(had to remove for roof scallop job) and my on call phone rings. Had to haul *** back to O-town to fix a broken WPFD rescue unit. Felt a familiar vibration all the way back. Got the firetruck fixed headed back to my garage and decided to inspect the Olds tires. Found a tread seperation, on the left rear tire. So, needless to say, decided not to risk it and grabbed my buddies '46 Chevy P/U and headed back to the show. Ended up missing most of the show and did not have a chance to take anymore pictures, so looking forward to seeing your photo's.

No car drama, just the human kind. I've been waiting all year for this show, then my brother got sick from being at work, then I got sick. I missed Friday, but we made it Saturday. We walked all over the damn place trying to find vendor spot #910. I'm not sure if there was a HAMB meet and greet, but if so I tried like hell to find it. We ended up walking all over the place dripping snot and coughing all over any poor ******* that got too near. I was literally carrying a box of Kleenex with me. I checked in with a few friends, but kept my distance so as not to infect them. Lunch was like eating a lump of $15.00 lard. Despite all the BS I'm glad we went. Lots of vendors, lots of cars for sale. Hopefully better luck next year. You wanted drama. :D

    Hey Nads - nice shirt!

  7. Well my drama started before I went. While gettin' the car on the trailer I hung a muffler on the trailer and created a hell of an exhaust leak at the manifold. Finally found a hill to put the ramps down on and got her loaded. I had just put air shocks on her but they didn't come with hoses. I called them and they sent them and was here when I got back home but not before I went.

    Turkey Run -08 007.jpg On trailer 001.jpg

I usually pull her with my truck but decided the Navigator could do it. The little woman needed wheels there and my truck don't get it!. About 20 miles from Daytona I felt a bumpin' goin' on and I thought it was just the road. I should know better by now, felt that same bump once before about 3 years ago just before my truck tire exploded. I pulled over and the right rear tire of my trailer was coming apart. Wire was everywhere. I thought maybe I could make it all the way there if I took it easy. Went about a mile or two and it blew out. Had to use my '56's bumper jack to jack the trailer up. Bent the hell out of the trailer fender.

Got that all done and made it to the show. My son had to come and help me get her off the trailer without draggin' the mufflers again. Then on Friday night I was stuck on Atlantic Ave. in all that traffic that was moving about 100 yards an hour and she got a little hot and vapor locked and died right there. One thing about it nobody was going anywhere so it cooled a little and I got her started and off the road into a parkin' lot. Put a little water in her and took the back roads back north to a bridge and across to US 1 and back to the hotel. On Saturday night was cruising with my son in his Pro Street '56 Chevy and damn it was loud, runnin' rich as hell and when he'd jump on it (at the aggin' of the sidewalk crowd) if I wasn't sittin' straight up in a seat that wasn't meant to be sat in in the first place it almost jerked my back out of joint. That went on for two p***es up and down the strip.

At the show I walked a hundred miles and never did get to the end. I did get a Johnsonville Brat though. That was good and only $3.00 and you got a $1.00 coupon for a pack in the store. What a deal!!

Now after I got home I find out that when I hit the muffler on the trailer I actually broke the exhaust manifold. I don't mean I cracked it, it came off in two pieces. I just got back from the welding shop where they welded it back together!

    Damn, ain't this **** fun ???? :D

ruined a good pair of draws on the way home. waited around for the engine raffle on sunday figured i had my truck and what the heck it could be worth a buck for a sbc. well the ride home that should have taken 3 1/2 hrs was going on hour six when i was about 10 miles from home and traffic started to move again. i am in the next to left lane on i-95 just past the 595 overp*** when i see some idiot cut in front of the guy in the left lane and the lose it. now it seems like time is going into slow motion. i see him wiggle then crash head on into the wall then begin to shoot out in front of me. luclily in my best nascar imitation i saw what was happening and put the pedal to the floor. he missed my truck but in my mirror i saw something big go flying up into the air. i thought it was my trailer's fender and dreaded seeing what happened. when i could safely pull over luckily what went flying was the rubber nose from the guy's car so my only damage was to my freshly painted trailer fender and my new B.V.D.s.also while turniong around to wait for the f.h.p. i saw another accident happen right on the ramp in front of me

I had an air-**** separator test on the way home as well. Boy was the weather ****ty! I ended up locking em up for a good 100 feet after the dumb biotch in front of me pulled right over on me in the slow lane and decided that she was gonna go slower yet. At least the air **** separator worked and the truck went straight even with em locked up. O thank God!!!!!

Yeah it was a pretty good time. Scored some 55 pontiac trim for my shoebox and got shot in the *** with a bb gun. Them ****ers do hurt. Moonshine and stag films will make the pain melt away.

That was Blakes shine. After last year when I blacked out and came out of the camper dressed as a luchador in a red union suit the girlfriend cut me off from my own stuff. I'm not allowed to take it out of the house now. 4t64rd do you still have pictures of that? and yes Tman, we shall meet again.

  21. Running the "happy ending" backwards on the afro chick ********* was hilarious... kinda like a dust buster...

Yes I do have the picture, I'm waiting 'til you are up for Admiral... By then it'll cost you big $$$ to keep it off the 'net.

That was quite a time. Too bad I was off talking while you guys were using my car. She was nice enough to come back over and pose for some other pics. It was very drunk out that night. But a nice show, none the less.
