You guys all stink. I do not know why I check in here several times a day. I guess I like this place. I do miss the old days when there was just a few post a day. It is a little fast for me now as I am just an old retired guy and it is hard for me to keep up with the pace.

I think we are all in agreement as another FNG I dont mind some hazing but I am not down to be anyones prospect. I say dumb stuff sometimes and if noone called me on it I would probly just keep lookin dumb this isn't a place that suffers fools for long and I think some of us are better for it. That said I think its also a good time to point out that rulers are recognized and supported here and thats what makes this such a great place to be I recommend it whenever relevant. I run my Galaxie with the Hamb tag hangin from the back plate so people know how I keep p***in em flames poppin chrome spinnin.

I lurked for a while before joining. Its not much different then many long standing forums on the net. You will always piss off one of the "Vets" and then the rest will gang up on you.

I will ask stupid questions from time to time. I will almost expect to get reamed as well. But I will take it with a grain of salt.

I work in IT I am used to being blamed for everything anyway!

BBobb is observant and correct; those things go a long way around here.

All I know is that it is a bad day if there is no access to the HAMB.

The way everyone makes it sound like reminds me of going into the corner gas station to borrow tools to fix my bike. YEARS AGO. and having the mechanic stand there wiping his hands with the RED RAG dealing out lesson in how much the tools cost, and how he had to work hard to take care of them. but in the end and after the lecture loaned me the tools and sometimes helped with my project and it was all face to face I think I am better for it...GHOST

11. Right after I first joined the HAMB I posted a thread that I needed an answer to and I knew I was gonna get my *** tore up on here. It involved a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire and I was gonna catch hell and I did, big time, but ya know what? I got an answer with pictures ... Was a life saver and worth the *** whippin' I got .. :D

As far as the "fast pace" goes, I love it that way. On the other forums I go to there may be 2 maybe 3 posts a day .. Piss on that .. keep 'em comin' fast and furious! (Oh, I'm an old retired fart too) .. :p

This FNG was warned about this site for years, but being an ENTJ, I joined , stood at the edge of the HAMB lake, and threw in the best open ended "riddle" I could...to laugh at the feeding frenzy on this FNG....and lose my supposed virginity here!
I love this place!
I've dealt with alot worse personalities in person on a daily basis!
The thread on the lady searching for her dad's 40 was proof of the comradery here!

When I first found the HAMB I read the entire thing. Literally. Spent several hours a day in the dead of winter working back through every page until I reached the very oldest post. Something about Zoop's seal (followed by a "this is a TRADITIONAL..." post). Then I read the entire tech section. Learned more in that week than I had in 20 years of studying magazines' "tech" articles.
(Of course, I also replied to a couple of posts that were years old because I didn't realize they were in reverse chronological order. Oh well. No one killed me.)

I hated the internet, thought it was for Nerds and Pervs only!I had heard of the H.A.M.B., but knowing the piss poor websites here in the U.K. I thought it was just like them. How WRONG I was, I now can't do without this place. It was Evel's ''A'' that got me on here whilst doing a image search , the H.A.M.B kept on coming up with the GOODS.The wealth of Knowledge,Humour,Art and most of all the GREAT cars that most of you own is a Great insperation to me.I wear my H.A.M.B. T-shirt with pride.THANKS to Ryan and ALL the O.G.s for making this place what it is.

I've been flamed on here for an opinion, but then again, their flaming is an opinion as well, and certainly won't deter me in what I do with my ride.
I mean, it is MY ride.
Example of said past flaming: Being a traditionalist to me is to not adhere to anyone else's rules but rather do your own thing and having the balls to push the envelope. So when I hear "That's not traditionalist!" it leaves me wondering,
"Not traditionalist? So even the rule breakers have rules?"
My re****al is to usually say, "Think back to the days of Roth, Hines, Barris. Imagine the amount of **** they caught for what they did to cars for their time. Now, imagine how much life would **** if they would have listened."
I wonder at times how a 'traditionalist' could have a complaint about something done to a car like bags or fuel injection, since it should be their birthright to break the rules. If they want to build a Historic representation of a hotrod, then be an Automotive Historian.
Like I said, the flamers opinions are just what mine are, opinions.
Who cares if Joe Schmuckatelly doesn't agree with your choices?
Odds are his are worse, and by worse I mean boring.

That was my $0.02

I've found the HAMB to be one of those places where a person can learn more by keeping one's mouth shut and just watch what unfolds. Alot of my stuff doesn't agree with the HAMB, but I respect the enviornment here and seem to learn something new everyday.

I've lurked for years but found therapy and the threat of imprisonment helped.
Never fear getting a new one ripped.
Just never have a lot to say--easier to listen and learn

Sometime in the late '70s ( I think ) I read an article about a guy who had just finished his Deuce in a English Magazine.
The Billet movement was still gaining momentum.

And he basically said that he ****ed up...
His car was only going to be cool for a couple of years, and if he had built a Trad Hot Rod, it would have been forever.

I realised he was right, and decided to build a Trad Car if I ever had the chance to do so.

That happened years later, and I ended up on the HAMB after a GG event when somebody said "hey, they are talking about your car on the HAMB"

The what???

Me and my Girlfriend ( now my Wife ) spent a couple of hours trying to Post pics of my Roadster.
The HAMBers took pitty on me and let me in...

Pic of the English Deuce...
