Been a few places in my roadster. Extremes follow: The beaches near San Diego and Boston, San Antonio to the upper penninsula of Michigan. Fifteen Fahrenheit to about a hundred seventeen. Below sea level to over 12000 feet. Damn, I've had fun, and expect to have some more.

  5. Wheels, we did a feature on your car back around 1990 or so. You had the upper right hand corner of the magazine. I believe Mick Connelly took the photos. Here you go.

  7. No, he found an old 32 Chevy Confederate Coupe Hot Rod in an old garage, yep. A real life barn find. He wanted a rod so badly I used to tell him, take your time Mikey, you'll find one when the time is right. He sold the 66 Nova he had rebuilt and re-did the Chevy and moved down to Fla.
He was my graphic artist. He was involved in a bad accident last year and I haven't heard back from him.

I did get incontact through the Jim Inglese thread that you also were involved in, with my artist Jim Malaro! We spent a good half an hour on the phone trying to catch up on old times.

Small world isn't it? And the HAMB makes it even smaller. I've hooked up with a number of old friends through it already.

WOW! Am I ever jealous! I drove my car for about a week, 12 years ago, before it got pulled down completely. My little brother drove his 52 GMC across the new 35w bridge in Minneapolis the first morning it was open. He lined up at 4 am and said the only people in front of him were 2 MN DOT dump trucks and some Harleys. We all thought it was pretty cool that he was the first hot rod/street rod to roll across!

Geez---Can't believe these guys that ask if it counts driving to work,---Out the driveway,--Around town, etc!!!
And then again, I love the ones that have chased those lines for so many miles across this beautiful USA, smiling, catching the bugs in teeth group, in their hot rod, not a later model car with all the soft ride stuff & air & power this & that!!
I made my first cross country trip from L.A. to Detroit, Mich. Nats in 1972, Tulsa,Ok. in 1973, Memphis, Tn. in 1975, Tulsa, Ok. in 1976, Colorado, Arizona, Washington, then after moving to Bend, Oregon 1984, slowed up a bit, Nats in Louisville, Ky. in 1994, Kelona,B.C., Idaho, Utah, & last year toured Pacific Northwest, Idaho,Wyoming,Yellowstone Nat. Park, Montana, Washington & back to Oregon!!
I don't go as much any more, wife has medical problems now, BUT, she has been riding shotgun all this time since 1970, & we now have 300,000 miles total on 2 odometers over the years!!----Hell of a lot more fun than going in & out of the driveway,----Driving to work,----All the way cross town,---Next state, etc.---Thats for candy asses!---OH Well, to each his own, & at 76 I'm still having fun going thru the gears & winding up my Cobra snake evry now & then (weather permitting), can't miss the whistle of wind in my ears, because my hearing aids are working great!!!--------Street is Neat------Don

  14. yes we have a name for those people who build there cars and rat rods and stay in the area there called ZIP CODE CARS. there are alot of great sites to see and alot of beautiful woman out there too. isnt that what most people build there cars for anyway to drive. Right on Deuce Daddy Don and hotroded. IMHO the zip code cars are right in there with the 1-800 cars. Always an excuse why they can't be driven far. I have to chuckle at how some people are always talking up the fact that their car is the daily driver. It doesn't mean squat if that daily drive is 5-10 mi of city driving. One of the worst cars I ever owned was a 1 owner 5 year old car that after I bought it found that it hadn't been on the highway in over 2 years, just around town. When I started driving it 55 mi per day everything started going to hell. Get out on the road and put 500+ mi on it in a day and do it day after day without a problem. Then you can call it reliable. My trip back from Fl in mid Oct. I saw several newer daily drivers along side the road for whatever reason and I put 1200 trouble free miles on the cpe that day
