Finally decided to lower my '59 Chevy P/U. I bought a 3" Dropped axle, new tie rod and modern tie rod ends, roller bearing kit, dropped shocks front and rear, c-notch for the rear, axle pads for the rear to flip it and so on and so forth. Also bought a dual reservoir m/c and I'll fab the bracket to make it work. I am excited so I had to write this. I'll post progress pics as I go. I am also going to try and paint it by Lonestar Roundup. I got some Flat Olive D**** and black for it. The body and dash will be the olive color and everything else will be gloss black (wheels, bumpers, grill, headlight surrounds and interior. I am crossing my fingers, hoping I make it to Roundup.
Long bed, step side. It used to have the fender for the spare tire on the left rear. I welded in a filler piece a few weeks ago from another fender I had that was damaged on the rear. It has a 283 in it right now, but I've got a '59 Caddy 390 with a stock triple duece setup for it with a hydro behind it. It'll be a while before I install that. I just want to get it back on the road as quick as possible.
Good luck. Like to see some pics when you get some progress done, and hopefully it will make it roundup.
I can't wait to see the pics, I just posted a thread about the drop axle I built with some pictures if you wanna take a look.
Actually I just read your post. I got my axle from the same guy on ebay and parts from CPP and Cl***ic Trucks.
