I have the opportunity to buy 236 1/2 Pints of ***orted 1 shot paints from a store that is getting out of the paint business. It was priced to me at $7.50 a 1/2 pint, but I have to buy it all. I would not need that much 1 shot in a lifetime. If there is any interest Ill buy it all, keep a few cans and sell the rest for $7.50 a 1/2 pint, plus shipping. Have not bought any paint yet, just testing the waters. It may be a good deal for all, I dunno!

Yes all factory sealed. Im not planning to make a paycheck just get a deal on some paint for my own project. 1/2 pints average $15.00 each from Eastwood so, I ***ume, $7.50 is based on 1/2 of retail value.

When bartering, offer less than half of what your final offer after much haggling would be.

I didnt mean to loball but to sell them one at a time ,i could think of better time spent, ill stick with five to make it worthwhile for yourself, set up at the swap or stripers ball.

hopefully most of them are primary colors too..that way you can mix any color combo you want and will be able to break out sets or kits of primary colors to sell..I would be intersted in buying a set of primary colors and a few special colors if the price was right.

If they are selling it at retail, they bought it pretty close to 1/2 of that price. Not much of a deal for you. When they really need to sell it it will go for alot less, unless they are real skeivers, in which case they'll probably end up eating it.( I have some 1 shot from when I was a kid, some of it is 30+ years old, and it's still o.k.when I go to use it. A good trick is don't shake the can, stir it up so it doesn't drip into the cap's well and get all crusty, when you seal it back up .Probably more info than you wanted, just trying to learn how to type.

That shows to beat the online deals. One of them here http://www.tcpglobal.com/pinstriperdepot/psdoneshot.aspx?gclid=CLaX9LuEpZcCFQQCagodrXIX9g

Prices still go by color, black and white being at the bottom of the price range and on up.

Sounds like a fair deal for guys who only want a couple of cans and a good deal for those off the beaten track who usually buy this type of stuff from the online vendors.

Gents, don't mouth off and beat up on the guy before doing some research on the subject. 7.50 a half pint is pretty good compared to what I found with a simple search.
As a comparison this site has some of the better deals that I could find http://www.misterart.com/store/view.cfm?group_id=107&store=001

    No

  13. to answer your question...
I'd be interested in certain colors IF they are the old leaded formulation...particularly orange, bright red, polar white, lettering white and black. maybe even some others....
and i know a couple of fellows who will follow suit.

  14. To me, considering the prices I've seen in Eastwood and other places, I think it's a decent deal. Jut the other day I got a new mag and the 1-Shot Polar White was $21.99!! Wtf!!! Dunno if it's just becoming that popular or what.
If'n you do get them and don't want them all.....PLEASE consider me as someone who'd be interested in buying some. :D

Haggle a bit though and see if the guy drops his asking price. Couldn't hurt.

It's pretty good pricing if you are buying one can at a time if you are being forced to buy 236 cans it is about 50 cents less a can than they are selling kits for in your first link not exactly an incredible deal. Not terrible but it is not what I would consider a going out of business blowout deal. The guy would be luck to get what he paid for them and I'm guessing it was less the $7.50 a can.

That does not sound like that great of a deal to me. If you have almost 2 grand to tie up in it then go for it. If you plan on selling it for the same thing you are paying for it there is no way it would be worth it to me for my time/trouble. I'd offer like 3 or 4 bucks a can.

    Apples and Oranges.

If you read all the details, the "kits" from TGP are the little tiny 4 oz cans.

1/2 Pints are 8 oz. Much better deal.

Even paying retail prices, 8 oz is a better value than 4 oz.

Some colors will sell, Black, White, Bright Red, etc.
Good luck selling Tan and some of the other colors.

I was buying 1-Shot in Quarts for $10 a couple years ago,
from a place that was getting out of 1-Shot.

OLD stuff, with Lead in it, from the pre-Spraylat days.
    Covers real nice, dries quick.

Gauder the Goof got some too.

tell him you will give him a grand for the 236 cans..that comes out to around 4.23 per can..if he balks at that than dont bother..like do you need the h***el of dealing with 200+ cans of paint?..your only going to want or need like 6 or 7 of the dam things..how many duplicates of the same color?....next time you go to talk to him take 20 - 50 dollar bills..and wave them in front of his face..ya never know, its worth a try

Thanks I thought they were the smaller cans but I missed the sizing and just ***umed the link was to similar products.

The second link has basic colors for as little as $8.11 a can as well if you buy a $25.00 membership $9.00 without. My point was that it didn't seem like a good enough deal to tie up that kind of money and effort to get rid of the rest to save a few dollars on the couple of cans of paint he wants to keep.

You make a very good additional point that some if not alot of it might be colors that no one wants which may be why it hasn't sold. It's not like one guy is going to buy what he doesn't want. He has had a pile of responsed here "I will take a couple" and they probably all want the same colors. Seem like a whole bunch of headaches with very little upside to me.:D

Looks like a bad deal to me... First of all, if you are looking to help out some fellow HAMBers that's great. But to lay out $1770 in cash and then sell it for cost here on the HAMB, even if you get a good turnout you look to lose 1/2 of that. Is it really worth around $900 to help us out? AND your basing their costs of a retail value. Bet they didn't pay half that. If it's really a going out of business sale, they would be willing to sell at their cost. Just my $0.02.

I was a stocking dealer with one shot for 30 plus years and dealers are forced to buy the product by the case,,,my customers were mainly sign painters so I stocked pints and quarts.,,,that's 12 pts and 6 qts per case.

A lot of colors were not extreamly popular but from time to time I sold every color Consumer Paints listed on their chart.

I sold a lot of it here in the cl***ifieds a few years ago,,still have some but not the popular colors,,

The EPA is one reason the stuff cost so much and that is where they add on additional cost for dealing with enviromentalist demands,,,another reason is freight,,,that stuff is Damn heavy,,then add to the fact the dealer is trying to make a living and the price just keeps going up. HRP

When comparing prices, make sure you know what size cans you are buying.
1-Shot comes in 1/4 Pint, 1/2 Pint, Pint, and Quarts.
Some suppliers don't clearly state the size of the cans.

I chose a couple colors, and a few suppliers at random:

    TCP 4 oz can:
    Process Blue $9.75
    Vermillion $10.00

    **** Blick 4 oz can:
    Process Blue $9.10
    Vermillion $ 9.30

    Earl Mich 4 0z cans
    Process Blue $8.75
    Vermillion $8.67

    Earl Mich 8 oz cans
    Process Blue $12.29
    Vermillion $12.62

    Bear Air 8 oz:
    Process Blue $10.84
    Vermillion $11.14

    Misterart 8 oz can:
    Process Blue $11.09
    Vermillion $11.38

    Eastwood 8 oz:
    Process Blue $14.99
    Vermillion $14.99
