Thanks for the kind words but if it wasnt for some great builders I would just be taking wedding pictures like everyone else, and be about ready to shoot myself lol
Hey TP .... guess I missed seein ya ......... It was all just great... I'm always just really really grateful to be there among everyone ...... I actually had that option to be up front but it meant a lot of work on display. I thought our postioning was a nice transition between the "glitz and pomp" of the ISCA cars up front and the reality check traditinal cars in the rear which I would rather be connected to ....... We drove nearly all of ours to the show and home and the only ones we didn't drive was because of the owners time restraints ........... Those inside shows are way too much work if ya don't get the fun of driving the suckers along with it.
Nice pictures on that link Acrochicken. It is hard to get good pictures in the Convention center. the lighting is weird. tHANKS, joHN
Yea all except for those cmx corporate cars in our booth lol j/k.........We are always in the same place but we never run into each other lol
Yea I hate indoor shooting I should have used my tripod to make them better, but with the booth and whatnot it would have been a pain
Better?????? Crap, your photo's actually make the cars look better than they did at the show. The dark ceiling/background really make the cars "pop". I can only wish that my pics would come out half as nice. I want a framed pic of the Riviera. Totally bad-ass. One of my top 5 cars there.
Gary, I didn't get to make it. My brother -in-law had by pass surgery and I went to waco. I was looking at the pictures and thought they had made a very bad mistake and put you in the middle. Did you happen to meet a fella by the name of David Sherman? he is a local older guy that really likes your work. He was wanting to meet you and I told him I'd introduce him to you but I didn,t get to go. glad to see they recognized you with an entire section for "Gary Howard " cars. David put a crown vic top on a 55 mercury and it looks like it was factory. Sorry I missed seeing you. TP
I am actually getting ready to shoot a feature on that car in the next couple of weeks if we are talking about the same one. I will post pics
Cool. Great story with that car----old custom, chopped and Y-block and newer Lincoln hubcaps added in the 50's, stored in a garage in Pasadena, TX since 1961. Current owner bought it and the garage it came out of was destroyed not long after by a hurricane. Marcy
Ok our new website just went live www.Notstockphotography.com and it has a direct link to events to make it easier for you
The camper is a 1958 Westfalia Caravan which are made in Germany. I did some restoration work on the interior. http://home.sprynet.com/~fullhouse/shopscen.htm Good eye Omar on the merc clone, the Dutch work missing on the dash is a dead give away. TP, LOWCAB,Richard D, you guys were missed this year.
Man ya'll are making me home sick. Now I'm craving Pancho's, Taco Cabana and Whataburger...............
Thanks man. Coming from you that is a huge complement. Your stuff is killer. I have great respect for your skills as a photographer.
