Voting has started for the first HAMB Plastic Model Group Build-Off. The rules were simple; start out with two model kits (Revell Custom Mercury and Revell 1932 Ford Sedan) and see what you could come up with in a little over month's time. We have two categories: Best Mercury and Best Sedan. We have 4 entires for the Mercury category and 2 for the Sedan category. Voting will close on Friday December 5th at 5pm Mountain time. Let us know which one is your favorite!!

I made my selection. Very nice job to all the builders. One month to finish any of those would be a challenge. I'd like to see these build offs continue, it's a good idea!

I voted. There were some pretty nice ones. I hope to see more entries next time, and I hope there are a lot more kits to choose from.

  17. You know, this is really cool. One of the things that got me going as a kid was building models (Badman in the blk/flamed version was my 1st) with dad. I think SRM screwed up when they got rid of the Model coverage!

  20. I don't see LaTisha's name on ballot box. But the detail on Pscotts 32 has won me over >>>>.

well actually mine ( the orange merc) I started and finished in less than a week. Found out about the build off the last week and to get either of these 2 models had to drive out of state to get. What is the deal with Walmart not carrying models anymore? Anyway I prefer mine not to be judged with these guys because they deserve the best. Mine was thrown together at the last minute. This was my, coming out of model retirement build. I actually amazed myself!

studenut48, You are crazy. That Merc belongs in the build-off no doubt about it. Great job and I can't wait to see what you will come up with for the next one. It will be allot more open so finding a kit shouldn't be so crazy. If you ever need help finding a kit, let me know and I will help mail one out to you...

I second the motion. Your Merc looks great in that new color paint. Just finishing a model alone is big achievement.

After watching this last night I'd have a very difficult time choosing a favorite model.

Maybe the one who walks in at 2:53

Amazing to think that Hippie6 and Pscott started off with the same kit.

Congradulations to all 6 builders. I think everyone did a great job and should be extremely proud of the completed models. Great job everyone!

Reminds me of when I was a little kid and dreamed of shrinking down and driving my toy cars. These models are awesome!
