No, not that kind...the little ones in your heater. Anyone have a source on different blower motors available? the 6v one in my '48 ford is shot. i got it to work yesterday, and now it does nothing today. I'm going to be running 12v when it's all said and done so i need a 12v. motor, or a good replacement with a resistor. I'm thinking a new one is in order, but they are like 80 bucks for a "replacement" that doesn't look like it actually is. I've seen the computer fan like on Rolf's coupe and i like that, but, i'd prefer to use the components i just sandblasted and painted this afternoon if at all possible. Found a few various places online but not exactly what i need, and most blowers shown were 5 lbs and use for A/C and heat. don't need that big. -ace
napa #6551062 Lane Anderson used that one in RD #70, April 1996. His was for an accessory under dash heater but a good start in your search.
NAPA works here, but you need a parts store that has real books and someone that knows how to use them. All heater motors are listed in the back of the books by shaft size length and diameter, voltage, rpm, mounting brackets, and housing size. I found one that was 12 volt almost a direct bolt in replacement for the heater in my 50 Dodge. Gene

do you have the stock heater/def unit? if so your in for a treat. on my '47 i had the heater core recored with a industrial one (only one close to the same size). and i tried to find a 12v replacement blower motor. i found one that was slightly longer and i'm in the process of making it fit. it needs to be centered so the barrel fan won't hit the sides (the original motor is rubber mounted) and back enough not to hit the core. i have the 4 wire 6v motor i don't know if it works if you need it. i used a 4 seasons catalog at the local parts store, i'll see if i still have the pages i photocopied that has all the dimensions.

I appreciate the help, and Shadetree, i think the very first motor on that link is what i'm after. See the screws how they stick out on the same side as the shaft? On the '48 it sticks out the other end. I'm thinking i can just take those screws out and flip them. It's almost the exact size i need! i'm using a 4 seasons 35576 http://www.4s.com/4****/CatalogSearch.aspx?action=GetPartSrch&Site=FourSeasons then type in the part number and it'll give you the dimensions, i just cut off the front studs.
1oldtimer, thanks. That's almost exactly like the one that Shadetree linked. Good stuff! I already ordered the one he posted earlier, so hopefully that will work! I think on the one i ordered though has the 'studs' going out the end that the shaft is on. I'm thinking i can just unscrew it, flip it around and should be almost exactly like the original, though 12v and 2 speeds. thanks for the help! -ace

There's a guy around here but by the time i pay him to do it, and by the time he actually gets around to doing it, it'll cost me the same, if not more, than to get a new one. Already ordered one anyhow, it's on the way. The internals of this one are pretty toast. I think somehow water had sat in it for a long time. even the bottom of my heater box was heavily pitted.
