Plans are probably a 283 or a 350 with a 700R4. Its already had a 6-bolt wheel to 5-bolt wheel conversion w/discs up front. Needs lots, but the body on this is pretty damn good, overall. This will be waaay down the road, maybe three to five years, before it's anywhere to being something that will go down the road. I've got a '56 Plymouth wagon project and maybe a '48 Chevy coupe ahead of this one. Got plenty to keep busy with, cash allowing!

My `63 daily D. Bought almost 2 yrs ago. Still looks pretty much the same, ie: a little too street rodder-ish. Swapped in a T-5 behind the 283 a couple of months ago.

I bought a '66 fleetside driver today. Burgundy, corvette rallys, small block. Ill post pics and more details as soon as I pick it up. I have some wheel fitment questions but Ill get to those when I recover financialy from the purchase and Im ready to buy wheels. Im thinking about going with torque thrust american racing wheels and some fat tall black wall tires. Ill just see how it evolves though.

Here's mine... 64 small window, SWB. Owned her since I was 15, and couldn't drive a stick. All original at the time, minus the side chrome.
She's had 3 motors and 3 transmissions in her. She now sports a '72 front
clip with cut springs, and I still have big plans for her.
After countless times of breaking down and having my girlfriend pushing it with
me, she still decided to marry me... That's love...

    Bitchin' stance 63chevyII.

Here's my jalopy... not HAMB friendly, but I like it. It's a frankentruck... cab is 64, bed is unkown, grill is 66, vin is 63, hood is from a chevy.

Nothin' special... run of the mill sbc, swapped the SM465 for a WC T5, swapped a bunch of stuff from a mid 80's chevy including font discs, power steering, steering column, booster, rear end. Also reclocated fuel tank under the bed and installed a painless harness. Bought it when I was 16...was/is my first project car... learned a lot from it. Main focus was for a budget DD, but someday I hope to do her right with real paint and a more traditional approach overall... but that could be decades from now.

BTW, if anyone has a 63-66 GMC hood they wanna sell/trade, LMK. :D

Wondering if anyone can help point me towards new or refurbished window regulators? I went and took a closer look at the truck I bought today. Turns out it is a '65 not a '66 and the driver side window needs some imediate attention.

Okay I found regulators for 65$ each and hood hinges for 55$ each and an entire cab weather strip kit for 175$ Does that sound high or about right for those parts? Ive been out of the car restoration/customization biz for quite a few years. Also anyone have any input or opinions regarding carpet kits? What company, things to look out for etc?

  30. That's a nice truck.
More traditional than all those belly floppers that are so popular right now.

So what color is it going to be?

What kind of MPG are you getting and what gears does it have?
