So i'm interested in getting a 3x2 setup going on my semi-hot 350 sbc. It's got 327 Corvette Fuelie heads (camel humps) and a mild cam. I'm running 1 5/8th headers to dual 3" flowmasters, so exhaust isnt too much of a problem I don't really know too much (try nothing) about multi-carb setups and 2bbl carbs. Anybody know a good set up? Relative price? etc. I'm thinking 4x2 is a bit too much for the motor, but who knows. Thanks.
I'm running a 3-2 setup on my 350. Bought it from Charlie Price, I think I payed $1650.00 I had to do a lot of work on it to make it run right. It has the 2gc carbs with progressive linkage. If you buy one from him his delivery stinks, and you will have to do some work on it.--TV
Edelbrock or Offenhauser intakes are available for right at 300 new. I think someone sells new or modified bases for the end two carbs and progressive linkage is 50 bucks at Speedway or other outlets. Someone can probably tell you which are the better carbs to start with and what mods they need to run as a 3x2 setup that works. Hate to even say the S word but here is another link http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Rochester-2G-Tri-Power-Base-Kit-with-Linkage,1647.html A bit of searching and hunting may get a better price on all of it.
I got a old 3x2 intake and put 3 new strombergs on. They ran great straight out of the box with a non progresive linkage. The motor was tested on a dyno with out any problems.
Strombergs might be on the small side at 150cfm each on 97's i'm going to go 48's (170cfm) on my 283 Cheap way is go rochesters and there is nothing wrong with that other than might be on the big size
i'm running a edlebrock with 3 2GC's that i converted over from primary carbs to secondary.I made the progressive linkage myself & rebuild 3 swapmeet carbs.Doubt if i have $300 in the whole setup.Took a season or 2 to get it right but it runs now. JimV
That was really helpful, thanks man. Just gotta call about a price and decide on a system......so.....many.....options. I feel overwhelmed hahahah
