I got this '53 a couple of months ago. I spent the first month getting it running and the second working on the interior. My thanks go out to Torr Skoog for the seat covers and ****** Knuckles for hooking me up with where to get material for the door panels. Check out the before and after...

The front seat looked way worse than this picture shows.

I still need to do the headliner, carpet, and windlace. I'm also painting the dash/steering wheel/column black and white instead of the grey and white it is now. Most of all, thanks for this great forum. The wealth of tech info available here has helped me more than anything.

    Thanks doc.

By the way, I'm looking for a good place to get carpet. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it. I'm looking for quality at a decent price.

My Dad just bought a set of carpets for his '54 Chev off of eBay for $85. I was a little skeptical at first but I saw them and they look very nice.

The last car of my own that I put carpets in ('55 Dodge) I just made a set using a carpet remnant I got at Menards. Cost me $18 and looks as good as any carpet set I've bought. Doesn't have a heel pad, though.

man, that looks great. Well done. You should Google Auto Custom Carpet also known as ACC. We're a dealer if you like it. Or, they might sell direct.....not sure. Anyways, keep up the good work!

Yep, ACC sells direct. I've used a few of their carpet sets and have been very happy with the fitment and colors available....

    Thanks guys.

Got a link for the ebay carpet? I thought about making some out of remnants, but not many folks use red or black carpet anymore. It'd be awesome if I could find some black **** though.

He did something exactly like that on his panels. He's the one who told me where to get the vinyl. That's why I gave him credit in the first post. And having seen his Plymouth in person, it's definately cool.

I've been looking and I've heard good things about acc. PM me a price for red or black loop for a '53 bel air 4 door. And thanks.

    Thanks for the advice.

Here's a link to the auction

I've also used ACC products and they are excellent, if you go that route you won't be disappointed.

Johnny did the seat covers, I did the door panels. Stop by the house anytime, I'm always around.
