I wanted to ask a question, but I didn't want everyone to jump in my **** for not having an intro...so here it is: My name is Josie, i live in Livermore. I'm 20 yrs. old. I have a 1957 bel air. my significant other has a 1956 bel air. we also have a 28 chevy that we keep flip-flopping on if we want to sell it or not. Also have a 59 rambler station-wagon in the family. i never really had a father figure that was into old cars. it was mostly just me and my mom. but we always had old stuff, and i grew up knowing that old stuff was better (in our disposable world). so that's my intro. if you feel the need to delve deeper into my life, just ask. now for my question... the ultra-bird is on the cover of the big book of Barris... i wanna know what those stars in the grill came off of, or did they make 'em? i was guessing a lincoln, but i can't find them in any pics.... Thanks ~Josie
Welcome to the Hamb,Josie! you've got quite a collection of cars, and my suggestion,is to keep them all.Don't know where the stars come from,Pontiac maybe?? Glenn
Hallo! I am Sven, und dis is my vooden shoe! (Klop, klop). Welcome to the HAMB. I want some pictures of aforementioned cars, sounds like they are pretty neat. -Crew
No answer for the stars yet? I can't believe the wolves are,nt slobbering all over ya yet. I think they are still @ work. You'll like it here, and we like you here also. seeya, Glenn
Im not at work just too damned tired to care. Welcome kid, I can't remember what the ultrabird looked like but I'd just about guess that the stars are from A GM like a Poncho or olds. Tell you what you ought to do as a good gesture and all that stuff. Just ship that '28 to my place. They're too much like work, a major frustration, and you already have too much on your plate. welcome aboard kid, The Pknbner
my computer is to slow to put up pictures... so i'll do it from work... i forgot to mention our trailer. we got a 50's frolic travel trailer too....
HC prediction: This thread will hit 1300 hits by midnight central tonight due to the user name thanks- HC
I'm not sure what the stars are, but check out the "drawer pull" section of your local home improvement store. Lots of cool ideas there.
Welcome to the HAMB and I second the drawer knob idea. You won't believe the selection and thanks to those fruity interior designers you can find all kinds of finishes as well.
[ QUOTE ] Is this for real? [/ QUOTE ] yep. so back to my question... what are those stars off of? ~josie
Welcome to the HAMB Josie. Always good to see some more of the people my age joinging up. Not saying you older guys and gals are uncool or anything. I just like to know that the love for cars is p***ing on into my generation as well. Sounds like you have some nice cars. Forget everyone else and feel free to p*** that 28 Chevy right on over here to Michigan, I got a great place to put it in my shop! Hope to hear some more posts from you. Oh yeah, I also have no idea about the stars.
here's a picture of my car and the trailer... we are overheating in paso.... we painted them both with spray paint on the street a few months ago...more pics soon... ~josie
That purple is from a rattle can? Why do I have the feeling that was old color and now it's flat black. I sure hope not.
i don't do the flat black thing.... i got myself a master plan... i'll post a pic of my ideas later.... american accents- blackberry i think is the name. we went to 3 different osh's to get enough. it's not painted with rattlecan because i think it's "cool".... you should of seen it before we painted it. i don't have money, a compresser, or a gun, so i have to do the best with what i got.... ~josie
