Ah yes, back in H.S. ['75-'76] had the 'lil pimp-mobile.... '73 Pinto Runabout/hatchback - backseat almost always down/rolling playpen/thus the pimp-shit. Runnin' Ansen slots/BFG TA's all 'round, Thrush side pipes [on stock 4-banger w/Accel ignition], van murals in the back windows and a killer Sears/Jensen 8track sytem. White w/orange vinyl top and orange "panelized" pinstriping......and me w/my "Peter Frampton" do/platform shoes! You laugh, but I got laid in that thing more than I did in college! Ed
1949 chevy coupe and a 69 GTO Judge... still got the 49 and saw the Judge I sold for $900.00 in 1980 at a swap meet last year and the guy was asking $12,000.00. a little worse for wear and not running.
in 58 had a 54 Merc--lowered, etc.--then in late 59 got a 57 Pontiac--dropped it, 3-2's and ran it at the drags at Madera,etc.---can't believe it was 50 years ago !!
Mine was a 56 Caddillac Eldorado Convertible. My Dad bought it as a Re-Sell Car. I gave him $150.00 for it. Crashed it right in front of the High School in 1967. I was following a 59 Ford too close, I guess. Had Bald tires too....LOL He Slammed on his brakes to talk to a Girl and I blasted him in the Rear. Luckily I worked in My Dad's body shop. Unluckily, I didn't get to drive to school ever again.
First it was 66 chev wagon, then 67 Mustang, 67 chev C-20 pickup, and last a pontiac wagon. Good times!!!!!! Junkyard
1964-65, 56 Ford Victoria with a 55 front clip,3 speed on the floor,292 with a 3/4 Wolverine cam.Blew a bunch of trannys, hard to park with no first or reverse.Fan snagged the battey cable ,pieces of battery holed the radiator.Only had money for a radiator and fan so no battery,Worked ok,park on hills all the time.First time I tried to get laid in the car and fumbled opening the rubber, popped out of my hands and under the seat.Found it but a Lucky Strike butt was stuck to it.
1962 rambler american convertible there is a reason amc no longer exists this is one of the reasons. the inline 6 at 80thous miles was completely shot the front ends on these cars had a habit of falling off and a fast 10 speed would give you a run for the money but it was still a convertible
I started with a 60 Impala 4 door. Rolled it and got a 60 Impala 2 door Ht. Found a 69 442 a few months later, got it and put the Impala in the garage to get it ready for new paint. Moved from Minnesota to Mississippi half way through my Sr year. Sold the Impala and 442. Got to Mississippi and bought a 58 Impala 2 door Ht. Also drove my parents 74 LTD every now and then and my dads 40 Stude coupe. Don't think I ever took any pictures of the 60 Impala 2 door. Wish I had a few of it.
may of 73 i picked up a mint 64 impala ss for 450.00, red, black int 327 4 bbl, auto with 50.000 on the clock, 6wks later i wrapped it around a phone pole! im still cryin!
'35 Olds F-35 4 door with torched front springs, Port-a-walls, & 1 straight pipe. I was the 3rd owner. Perfect body & interior, clock mirror that worked.
My first was a 67 Ford Mustang coupe, it had a straight 6. Had it about 3 weeks till my mom rear ended me at a stop sign and totaled it......man that was a quiet house for a few weeks. I replaced it with a 73 mustang coupe that some old lady owned. It was MINT till I hit a Ford tempo that ran a red light and totalled it out like a year later.
My brothera and I shared this car, got it from grandpa's estate in 1950. Pictured after we painted it tu-tone blue with a brush, Here with my mom in 1954.
i graduated in '04, but i had a 1964 galaxie 500. i diddnt build the car right at all. VERY low (almost stupid low) VERY STUPID LOUD. straight pipes with bellflowers in the back. semi flat black with white rims. it was a fun car in high school....but you learn from your mistakes like they say and im much more happy with what i have now.
1970 1/2 Trans Am. Ram Air IV. Rock crusher, 373 12 bolt. Lucerne blue with white stripe. One of 88 built. 100,000 miles. Still got it. Always will. I'm the seventh owner. Had it for 27 years. I'd like to say I was cool in High School, but the truth is I was a nerd with a cool car. Passed up a Plymouth Superbird 440 auto. Couldn't raise the 8 grand at the time 1981.
I had two. The first was a 1961 Chevy Biscayne 2-door sedan. It looked fast, but it had a tired 283 with a 3-on-the-tree. Would have been a nice platform for a hot rod, but I barely had money for gas. The second one was a 1952 MG TD. I still own it.
