OK, OK, I've had enough of all this stuff. You guys are giving me a headache!

Now, wouldn't you guys like to look at this instead of beating on each other?

Now who here agrees with me that this is better?

Folks live in houses they couldn't afford from the start
Folks lease cars they couldn't afford to purchase
Folks buy stuff they can't afford with credit cards
Folks eat just about every meal out instead of cooking

Boo hoo hoo, I can't feel sorry for these folks.
There's a girl at work that drives a brand new Hummer who just got her electricity shut off....my god, where are folks priorities?? Friends at work are going nuts with the all the Christmas gifts they are buying for their familys yet these people live from pay check to pay check.

People at work are always commenting about all the trips I take, I gently remind them I drive a 10 year old car with no car payments, I don't have a dime of credit card debt and I bring my own lunch every day. I still don't think they get it. There are ALOT of stupid people in this world.

  9. You hit it exactly Denise. My generation ****s and I don't see it getting any better in the future. There are exceptions out there don't get me wrong but generation DGAF as I call em' is way worse then the rob Peter to pay Paul generations that came before us. Its now a requirement to have a child out of wed-lock and also be still in H.S. in order to get a job some places lmfao.

I have never had a credit card only a bank card with credit card abilities for the things that require it, i.e. rental cars, motels, phone orders for parts:D, etc... Don't spend what you don't have! They should teach that in schools.-Weeks

  12. " Wooeee...! What in the name of Mother Theresa have you boys been a eatin?" (campfire scene, Blazing Saddles, circa 1975. Now that's a whole 'nother "1st car" and the drive-in story. My stomach hurts just thinking about it.)

I will tiptoe back to the 30's Depression commment for a moment just to try and get this thing semi-back on track before it gets relagated to the "ZIP IT" basket.

Just a little history I got from my Dad's older brother back in Mn. (I'm heading back there with the family next week for a Xmas visit, and called him to set up some visiting time).

He told me that one lingering result from the depression-era was that there were still alot families struggling or had not felt the full effect of the late 40's, early 50's recovery, thus when it came to keeping or acquiring some mode of transportation alot of guys (dad's and son's alike) had no choice but to resort to what we're doing as a hobby today... "Rattin' out parts from older cars", or buying out the neighbors old broken down car so that neighbor could afford rent and groceries. And in turn it gave them (my uncle and others) a somewhat reliable piece of transportation.
He also told me that the uglier it was, the faster you had to make, so the well-to-do boys and their newer cars would never mess with ya.

So, either we get back on track with this thread about helping the neighbor while helping ourselves, or Justin... feel free to bust this thing off.

P.S. If that yacht owner is liquidating and needs some grocery money... I'll gladly pay him what he wants for that bow rider... but not a penny more!

Even my poop pumping company has slowed down although I am recession proof people must be eating less. I have found what I consider great deals lately for a price that almost anyone could meet. Hope it stays like this for at least a little while so we can save some cars worth saving!

The real unfortunate thing is, what really got this country out of the great depression was WW II. And we surely don't need that. God forbid.

Sell? Buy? For what? Money? I'd like to say on this topic what I hear in the background from Denise, Mazooma, others...

    SHUT THE **** UP!!!

I mean really, get a ****in grip kids. Look at things with some level of reality and self respect. I have a tidy sum sitting in some cars that the banks, media, and gov't can't **** with. And no DON'T START WITH THE "City wants my cars gone..." **** EITHER. Doesn't play well with me. Can you help someone? Then do it and keep your mouth shut.

    MERRY ****IN CHRISTMAS ****HEADS...

As to the original post to this thread.. yes.. there are some things available now, that were not before, at less than market value..

however.. as I see it everything is always in FLUX.. its simply your perspective on the flux that determines IF things are "out of wack"

the last 10 years things have been skewed in the favor of those who lived on credit..

IMHO times have swung toward the favor of those who DO NOT..

I look at the next few years with great optimism..

    Listen TO FDR...
