Ford Pinto rear diff worth anything??

wondering if it goes in the s**** pile or not.
1972 4-lug Pinto, 57" wide from axle flange surface.

Open drive (not posi).

Small, obviously not for V8 use, right?

Cleaning out the yard, thats all.

cover type or stump type...? didn't some come with 8" rears...? brandon

 

Yep! It is an 8" I found one with 4.11 gears. Slip in Maverick axles and go

 

More than likely it's the very weak 6 3/4" rearend (8 bolt rear cover, shaped like a stop sign), it's not worth anything.

 

if it has a bolt on rear cover its the weak one. if it is an integral type it might be worth a dollar or two

I don't think that the 8" rear end was available until 1974 (Pinto/Mustang II), so if it is in a 1972 it's probably s****.

 

the local circle track guys will buy it. Lots of pinto mini stocks out their.

if it was out of a wagon the brake drums are wider and a little harder to find in the parts stores.
