I have a friend who has a brother in Phoenix, AZ who needs a brake job on a 1951 Plymouth Coupe. I'm looking for a good shop to refer him to. Apparently he has gone to a couple of shops that are clueless on drum brakes, and they told him to go elsewhere. I told him to bring it to Arkansas and I'll take care of him......LOL If anyone out there has a shop to recommend please post or PM me. THX And I'm not trying to start a controversy....just need a shop referral.
One of our fellow hamb members here in Phoenix has a drum lathe and arcing tooling to correctly set him up. His name is john evans, and i believe that is his hamb name as well. as far as mechanical work goes, i can probably help out, but this is my business so i can't do it at no charge. If he is interested have him give me a call at 602-881-0175 thanks, Chip Quinn. p.s. I speak fluant mopar!
Go to your friendly library and in the reference section you will find old Motor's Manuals (not Chiltons) and read up on it. There are step by step procedures on 51 Plymouth brakes. Drum brake rebuilds are not hard to preform, reading the manual could be harder.
If you get stuck for instructions, I have old Motors Manuals and would be glad to take a look for you. PM me and I'll dig them out. Bob
