I love model kits and collect vintage kits and boxes. As a kid, getting a model kit was the best gift I could ever get. I remember the 'magic' of shaking a w****d gift and hearing the noise! No time to build them now, I have enough real cars to play with but, I really appreciate the craftmanship people put into building kits. Also, the artwork on many of the vintage kit boxes was so cool. tha'ts why I collect boxes too, not just the kits. I have a pretty good collection of kit box pictures too if anyone wants to see them. nice boxes! here's an old one I saved last week. no track, but I have the 2 cars and the transformer. no real model progress this week, too much time working on the real cars. but here's the base of my engine for my el camino
I love building models, but haven't done anything in a while. I did however just get a 50 Ford vert that I will be doing shortly. Here are a few pics of some older builds. Brad.
Here's shot of an Ebay score from several years ago. I had been on a mission to build a model of all my favorite former cars. It took so long to find one of these for less than $100 (hey, they're RARE!), that I was reluctant to even open it. Check it out, still got the little price sticker. Looks like I missed the deadline for the free model offer
Nice score on the Gilbert slotcars... Just an FYI for you, the track for that set is different than the track for the 40 Fords, Corvettes, Sulky's,Trucks, Indy Cars and the 007' sets... That is the FIRST slot car set A.C.Gilbert made and it was only made in 1960. Box looks mint. They did made a retrofit kit to convert it to operate on the later track. Some N.O.S. replacement parts are available thru Hobby Surplus in CT. They bought out the AC Gilbert factory in 68' when they closed... Here's a link to the parts page for the set you have... Here's a link to the other stuff they have for Gilbert Slotcars... Don't buy the track there though. The sets show up on Fleabay enough to pick them up reasonable for the track. Cars are usually missing or box is trashed.
I **** at models. Nothing from me unless you want to see old **** that y'all would have seen anyway. Doc.
Nice g***er. I think I still have one of these up on the shelf. Might have to do it up similar to this.

I pulled out a few the other day. 10 or so still not built. I guess when all the other metal work is done I will finally get to the plastic.
Hey guys, what's up? THis is my first post here just joined a few days ago. I heard about this place from the garage journal. Here are a few models i built a few years years ago. I have since sold them all. I will post more if you are interested.
