i searched for any information on opinions, experiences, or recommendations of aftermarket axle manufacturers. Nothing really found...

Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with any of these guys (Moser, Currie, or Strange)? Product Quality Issues? Service Issues?

    Thanks in advance!

Bought a complete housing and axle setup from Currie made to order and twisted one axle end off and almost snapped the other, it had over 1/8" twist to it. Now these were only 28 spline with Detroit locker and I was at the track and had some wheelhop. These axles appear to have been older 31 splines cut down and made into 28 spline with my length without re-hardening. I have since replaced those axles with Strange Eng. 31 spline and these are case hardened. Been to the track since then and beat on the street pretty good and there isn't a bit of twitst in them so far.
Strange was a pleasure to deal with and made my axles in a rush for no fee. Ordered on Friday and they were in my car on tues. Williams has some super strong drag axles and they are nice to deal with as well but kinda pricey.

I've used Dutchman for several of my '32's. Had them narrow housings , bought several center sections and have had custom axle lengths and bolt circles done . Always got what I wanted and they had them finished when they said..........Z.D.

All three are quality axles. I have more experience from them on the 4x4 side of things, but they all have great reps. and products. I've used Moser and Currie with no complaints.

Check my build thread below. I just received my axles the other day. I had to tell all about the choice.

We put in alot of rears at the shop and we've had the most success with strange center sections and axles, moser also makes a bad*** product too. currie makes a decent product but we have run into a few problems but nothing that could have been avoided. so id tell you to go strange

They're all similar in quality. Moser is usually a bit less expensive.

I have moser axles in my mustang with no issues. My drag truck has all Mark Williams parts. The only people I have ever had issues with was summers brothers, we used to break axles all the time in a spooled stock car on asphalt until we gave up and went to Moser and never had another problem.

  16. Bought a currie awhile back no problems, great people, great service. thumbs up.

I've used Currie & Moser. The last two that I got from John's Industries-(The 9" Factory) were excellent and they are great folks.

Moser has the fastest turn around in the industry. Strange has the slowest.

Both of them are a high quality piece, but it boils down to turn around and price. Both have excellent customer service.

I've used Currie and Moser each several times. I had an axle twist from one from Currie. I also had a set of Moser axles that were each 1/2" too long. Called Moser, they argued that I gave them the wrong measurements. So we argued back and forth, finally I asked them to recrunch the numbers on my measurements. Yea, they messed up. Said they would eat shipping and fix, but I kind of needed them yesterday as is, so I fixed them. I would have no issues recomending either though.

If I remember correct, Moser and Currie both started out as re-spline product suppliers and have grown from there.

The 28 spline from a 31 spline comment was not a surprise.

May be a "get what you pay for" deal.

I think they all offer new, forged, race-quality axles now, if you want to go that route.

I had moser cut a 9" ford housing and made 31 spline axles to fit. It all came back ready to install, no problems at all. Its been 10 years ago, still doing fine.

I think they are all pretty good.

I did twist 2 sets of Moser 31 splines off in the shop truck but it's not Moser's fault.

The guys are pretty tuff on it.

I was lucky enough to call Moser before I bought my rear to narrow. He saved me some serious money by telling me what rear that I needed to get so that it could be narrowed inexpensively. He could have made more money by selling me new axles instead of just shortening my axles that he talked me into using. This was all done before I spent a dime with him. Needless to say I'll always recommend Moser if asked.

  28. Used Strange on my 72 Nova during the early 90's and begining of the super street 10 tire craze, no problems, called them, told them of my plans and at the door arrived a 9' housing, 35 spline axles, 4.11 spooled nodular center section, never a problem one! Good guys to deal with for sure, pricy? Yep!

I figured my life was worth that amount.............

  29. Ì ordered my axels from Dutchman, and after three tries, they finally got them right.
    Never again.

I ordered a custom built 9" from Currie for my 29 dodge, 31 spline axles, 4:11 gears, spool, with fancy schmancy Wilwood disc brakes.
The rearend looks great, good customer service.
The car isn't on the road yet, so I can't comment on performance
