Ok. I've had a very rough year. It plain ****ed. In fact if my place of employment closes down before the first of the year it will be the icing on the cake.

So that being said... I'm in the giving spirit!

A couple of months ago nailhead_brent offered up a HAMB t shirt because he lost a bunch of weight. Instead of mothballing it... he decided to give it away to the HAMBer who was most in need of it.

I had the best sob story. Yay me.

I'd again like to thank brent for the generous donation... and the guy who sent me the torn envelope with the napkin in it. (brent knows who sent it and swears there was something in it...)

I also promised to give away some shirts I had. So after tearing the ba*****t apart I managed to find them... and here's the deal.

I want you to nominate someone who you feel deserves two t shirts. BOTH OF THESE SHIRTS ARE SIZE LARGE. It can be anyone... and for you self-absorbed types you can nominate yourself.

I'm giving this until Christmas Eve midnight. and I'll announce the winner on or sometime shortly after Christmas. My decision is final but popular opinion could sway my vote.

    Here's what's up for grabs:

both the HAMB crown logo and the jalopy journal explosion shirt both previously unworn. Even though they appeared to be slept in/on. If you've ever seen me you know I can never fit into a large t shirt. (I'm not washing them either. :) )
(in all its awesome photo cropping glory.)

I won't even get started on this one, my daughter is deserving of it but let someone else have it. I say my daughter is because of the fact she's two and a half years old and has just over 2 million in doctor and therapy bills. Had one heart surgery another one pending, laser eye surgery, cleft pallet surgery all before she was 6 months old. She has a ton more issues than this. She was premature by 3 and a half months, weighed 1 pound 12 and a half ounces and was only 12 inches long at birth...
I am grateful she is alive and in this world, We have our gift. I hope someone can appreciate the thought and actions of what you are doing. Trust me there's been a lot of days when I thought the world was against me and I still do from time to time. One look at my daughter and all negative thoughts are gone!!!

Yep Dr.Kerry's daughter is one awesome lil girl. Kerry and his wife have been through a lot, these last couple of years. Their spirits are always high. They are some great parents. The three of them have been around for me. Great people.

Don't want the T-Shirts I vote for Dr Kerry beautifull little girl .

I am just talking because it helps so much letting it out . The meds and beer dont work as well . Thank You Guys .

Been the toughest year in mine and my wifes life . Three children all adults who have waivered to the other side . My oldest son 31 tonight Drinking which is very uncommon totaled his Mustang by hitting a parked car and then ran . He is in deep and i have never seen this behavior from him before . Luckily he didnt get a DUI just a leaving the scene of a accident . I think after he called the Police to turn himself in they gave him time standing in the cold to clear up before they came and got him . Which took a few hours .

The Middle boy 27 who has a track record as long as War and Peace is maybe facing his third felony and all of them have been something stupid . Last one a hate crime because some retired marine stepped in where he shouldn't have been and was of the wrong color got his *** kicked and filled charges when son spurted off words in anger which he does have a problem with . But he is one who will back you up when needed . He is at 26th N Cali. Pray for him he has 3 children of his own .

Third child my daughter 21 was beaten by her boyfriend and went through 4 hours of facial and cranial reconstruction and has become allmost uncontrolable . She is so out of it she failed out of school for Vet Tech. something she dreamed of all her life . This is second time she cheated death she met some 32 year old guy on my space and out with him drunk 2 weeks ago both where p***ed out and he took out a electric pole . She hit the air bag so hard it smashed into the windshild . She says she remembers sparks all around as she crawled out of the car . I pray so much that she will get her life back and take control and become who she was .

Cars arn't even healing me as they have so many times in the past

Dr Kerry, your daughter is beautiful.

your right it does help to talk about it.

I'd like to nominate radical56chevy (Tim) my brother. man, he was there when my son p***ed last year and has had some bad luck of his own. he was burnt over 30-40 percent of his body, it was 2nd and 3rd degree. He went threw several skin grafts and never complained. He was just thankful he was going to see his family another day.

You are right about it helping to let it out...

Dr.Kerry, you are certainly blessed with your beautiful daughter. I have a 5 year old little girl and she is my world. God bless you...

Bluestang67, I don't know what to say about your sons... It is a shame but the one that has me concerned is your daughter. I sure hope that her boyfriend got the ****in' **** stomped out of him. If I ever found out someone beat on my daughter, sister or even my ex, I wouldn't be able to stop and he would get it EVERY time I saw him after that, just so he doesn't forget... There are some things that just aren't done. I don't know you personally but just hearing about it has me enraged... HAMB blanket party... ;)

    man...

I thought my year was rough. :(

When I started this thread I never even thought that I would have started one of the most depressing threads of the decade on the HAMB.

But I know as well as anyone that talking it out and hearing words of encouragement from my HAMB brothers and sisters does wonders for the soul.

Keep it going... get it off your chest... even if you don't want the shirts... sometimes just venting a little will help ease the pain of it all.

Darryl, man I don't know what to say, sorry doesn't touch anything. I've been close with Lilly, twice she came close to going. I know what it feels like to come close, can't imagine loosing her!!

Like Scott said my last two years has been rough and VERY stressful. My wife and I has a schedule that revolves entirely around our daughter, from times to give meds, we have to do therapy at this time, she needs to feed every three hours (which is by a feeding pump that takes an hour to feed her). The pump is because of her cleft pallet, she still doesn't eat anything by mouth. She is a year behind in develpoment (she's basically a one year old by size and mind), she has what they call "Kabuki Syndrome" which hits one in every 38,000 kids, yeah she's the lucky one eh?? http://www.kabukisyndrome.com/
There has been two times we about lost her and she had the strengthto push on.

Thanks to everyone for giving her thoughts, I didn't want to spend to much time explaining her cir***stances but wanted to give an idea. There is a lot more to tell believe me.
Thanks again Scott, it's great to have people like you and Brenda in our lives, Lisa enjoys talking with her.

The ole saying "I was sad becouse I had no shoes, till I saw a man with no feet" still rings true dosen't it?

We all have "woe is me" times in our lives, it's what we do with them that makes the difference. WTG thirtyfivepickup, great thread.

Dang. And having my first heart episode at 39 and ending up face down in the kitchen Saturday night makes me feel blessed!

My boys are 15 3/4 and 13. My wife is good. I lost 2 dogs this year, one my best bud since she was 8 weeks old (9 years plus in the end) but we picked up 4 (yes 4) puppies (mini-wieners, just like the 9 year old!)

My heart issue is at the beginning stages so diet, exercise, and meds will help.

I work in the auto industry but the GM loan should help us and I've got an education to fall back on if my job goes under. I've moved before for work.

God bless all of you going through tough times. My prayers are with you.

And though your daughter may be a year behind, that just means you get to keep her in your arms for an extra year! They grow up so fast...

How about you take those shirts, and maybe an old warm coat or blanket, and give them to some homeless person in need who is living on the streets? Countless homeless individuals die from exposure every winter. The fact that we are all sitting here posting on a computer site means we have a roof over our heads anyways.

wow. So much inspiration from so many great people. You are right, we all have our "woe is me days" and many think there is nothing that could possibly get any worse. But the tales of strength are endearing and give us all hope. This time of year is when everybody in need, will hopefully find somebody that has extra love and comp***ion to give.

The holidays are not about money...they are about the people who love us, and the people we love. So long as you have those people there is not one thing that can ruin your day.

My thoughts turn to a great before dinner prayer (im not a religious person, but its nice)
We thank thee for food and remember the hungry.

We thank thee for health and remember the sick.

We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.

We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service that thy gifts to us may be used for others. Amen.

Much love to all of my fellow HAMBers this holiday season. And Im sure the shirts will go to somebody deserving.

    Take care
    Tbird

  22. Yes, it helps to talk,,,especially to those who listen. Thank the lord for Ryan and the HAMB.

My year has been bad (wifes cancer, son near dead from m***ive heart attack and lost some 65% of my lifes savings in the market), but many have it worse. God bless all you HAMbones out there needing his help.

Because I live in middle of nowhere Indiana and don't see any homeless. I gave probably 200 new in the package Hot Wheels to Toys for Tots... donated old clothes to the local grocery store when they had a drive.

Now its time to give a little something back to the HAMB and the thousands of my extended family that helped me through a rough patch.

And these shirts deserve to be on the backs of someone who will carry the torch for this site.

I, seriously, own no old Hot Rod shirts and could sorely use a white, size large shirt to wear while at old car events. My lone car shirt, an event shirt from "Impalafest 2002", just doesn't quite fit in with the HAMB crowd.

Help a loser like me become just a little bit less lame.
