Hello I'm new to the board. As my screen name implies my name is Tim and I'm from West Palm Beach FL. I came across this board by doing a google search for information on Model A hotrod suspension options. I have restord older cars in the past and have always done some modification to every car I've owned but an A is the oldest iron I will have tackled. My current driver is a late model Tbird with a blown aluminum block V-8 I transpanted in it. Please forgive the ignorance of my first question to the board but is the purpose of boxing an older frame to stiffen it up to handle the increased torque of a different motor?

Yes, boxing that 70 year old frame is to give it strength and make it rigid.

Thanks for the welcome and the info. Here are a few pics

First the last old car I restored [IMG]

Here are a few of the daily driver....it doesn't look like much from the outside because I really wanted to keep it a sleeper. You will also have to look closely for the blower in the engine shot because it is mounted under the intake manifold in the valley....you can see the snout just to the left of the alt. To help picture it I have attached a shot of it out of the car. [IMG]

What kind of Gig? I've done a few there myself.....I've been blowing jazz trombone for 25 years. Haven't purchased the A yet just finding out everything I can so i don't make a dumb purchase. I've been thinking of a 29.

I play lead guitar for what was a swing band. Now we've added Motown and R&B to our play list. web site
We were hired for a world wide organizations conference dinner/dance.
Short trip, we flew in Tues. afternoon and left Thurs. afternoon.
    Nice place, huh?
