Terrific pics, Thanks for sharing. Met Watson at the last Rat Fink Show held at Mooneyes (2000) by Big Daddy Roth. The show had just been shut down because of too much traffic caused by show, and the idiot's doing burn outs in the street. Larry and I sat with Roth on a curb as Roth was so disappointed that people would screw up a show that was intended to be fun and for him to donate money to the charities he supported. Larry was a true friend of Big Daddy.

  11. Larry just came into my paint store to drop off some flyers for his and Winfields car show in october of next year. Anyways I showed him this thread and Riksters album with all the pics. He was really pleased with the reaction you guys gave him and the time taken to put something together like Rikster did. I just thought that you guys would like to know his enthusiasm.

On a side note I think I may just be one of the luckiest young car guys around to have sat here for the past hour and go through pics and talk about each one with the man himself. Not that I am rubbing it in or anything:D:D AND YES LARRY WATSON IS THE MAN!

    THAT.... made my day :)

I hope one day I will be able to meet Larry in person.

  13. Rikster you ever make out to California in this area and I am positive Larry would love to take the time to meet up with you and return the favor you did for him. He is truly a car guy and was very enthusiastic about the whole hamb board. He mentioned that his plans were to come back soon and check it out more since he is not the computer type.

Any idea how to contact him to check out the museum, maybe buy a shirt or something? I'd buy the one he's wearing if he'll sell it. :D :D

  15. Hey Mark, are you in Japan... or Australia??

    I'm confused.

Yeah, I was there. That was a cool show.
Car Partyers are always messing up a good car show.

I think that was the year I was parked down the street in a little lot, and the Purple People Eater was parked next to me.

This was my old Chevy and the paint says only one thing......Watson Style. He did not paint this car but it was inspired by his style. Some of the coolest paint jobs came out of his shop. He is truely an icon and a legend.

Well I will be at the Sacramento show in February. Perhaps you can ask Larry if he plans on going to that show as well. It will be a spectacular one with the Merc Gathering and Merc Parking.

I second the Watson MFS. He should be documented on video too... if he's kool with that.
