Howdy. I am a new guy and came over after hearing about you on the Chrome Czar message board. I own a 1936 Ford Cabriolet, a 1948 Austin A40 Dorset 2-door sedan and a 1963 Ford Falcon 2-door sedan. I hope to make the Austin into a street g***er. The Falcon has been tubbed and is waiting for a V8 to replace the stock 6-cylinder. The 36 was my dad's and he bought it in 1957. He spent his teenage years in California and brought his hot rod ideas with him when he moved to Iowa in the early 50's. He started customizing it in 1958 when he chopped and channeled it (4" chop, 8" channel). It was on the street for short time in 1962, He never really finished it but worked on it off and on until around 1989. He got old, ran out of money and gave up on it. My brother and I dug it out of storage in 2005 and finished it for him while he was still around to appreciate it. We kept it just the way he wanted to build it in 1958. Chopped, channeled, 1940 La Salle grill, solid hood sides, lake pipes, 39 Ford tail lights, ribbed bumpers and 24-stud flathead.
