I am useing a 351 based engine in my 39 Ford with a 5" recessed firewall.

I would like to find some "bolt in" headers that will fit because I am cheap that way... :)

I have tried some 5.0 Mustang headers that would have worked great if it were not for my stock style brake pedal... :)

Anyway I was thinking that SOMEBODY out there must know of something that will work!

Thanks in advance for the help!

I got mine from Speedway a number of years ago (damn, is it really 25?). We had to move one tube when we went from a 302 to a 351W, and I had them Jet-Hot coated at the same time (about 13 years ago). They are still on the car, and will probably outlast me and it.

Have Sanderson block hugger on the 302 in my roadster. They are pretty compact, and I think they might be a good choice for your car as well.

I have a 40 sedan w/351 w,aod, power mII,power brakes .I used Ford pickup headers that I got from a supplier in Dallas called Dallas Mustang. They fit well with few problems clearing all the steering and brakes. Sorry I don't know the exact application or mfg ,I just remember the guy said they were truck headers. Hope this helps.

Thank you both for the information!

Headers for a hot rod can be a real PIA, When I had the BB Chevy in the car I ended up useing a set of 64 chevy II fenderwell headers, but of course this was no help whatsoever when going Ford!!

(Those fenderwell headers looked mighty mean, but it was hard getting the pipes back inside of the frame rails... )
