Forget wing windows on a 39. That is what makes them better looking than a 40. Many 39's have lost their doors to install on a 40.[quote=lazyv8;3307364]the plan so far is to leave it as is.... rub it out ,put it together,i have a line on a good running 40 motor that ill run heads and a two pot fenton intake on... dropped axle with a posie spring ,posie in the rear too....go to 5 on 5 1/2 ,16 '' solids, im gonna leave the body alone!just paint the fire wall cream, glen gave me the rare accesory windwings for the car but i dont want to even drilll 1/8 '' holes in the doors to put them on! im so exited about this car...ive wanted a early ford as long as i can remember! under gramps guidence ill have the right product in the end!

Dreams do come true! Listen to grandpa, he knows what he's doing. I bought my 40 coupe in high school 43 years ago and yes, still having fun in it. My dad told me I would never get my $100 out of it and I’m going to prove him wrong! My 6 year old grandson has an eye on it.

  23. Are you putting a cam in that flathead? You've got it apart, drop in a good cam - you'll be glad you did! Like a L100 or something that sounds cool!

I love the car - what a great story and so cool that you and Gramps get to work together on it! You'll have memories that will last you a lifetime!

HUGE SUPRISE ON SATURDAY!...A good friend of the family stopped by with his coupe so i could see some of the details to put the front sheetmetal together! there are so many differences from 39-40.....
his car is a early 39 car like mine...older restoration, all stock with weak springs an dual pipes!!! hahaaa! very nice piece.

Nice car, always nice to get one from an owner that wanted it to go to a proper home. Good luck with the re***embly.
