Damm,Sad news indeed. I am a long term fan and admirer of hers and will always remember her for what she had done.Cl***y lady and never without a smile.
God speed Bettie....You were copied but never outdone.

 

Feminine & sensual without resorting to being a **** for attention.....she was a real cl*** act.

I wonder how she felt or was even aware of all her imitators. I know she resented what her image had become. I hope she was able to find peace with herself before she died.

I've been waiting for this ever since I heard she was in the hospital earlier. What a loss, a true icon. R.I.P. Bettie.

 

Yes, it's sad but for the most part she lived a great life. I'm sure she is more at peace now than she has been for a long time.

her image has become as familiar as flat black paint, pinstripes and radiator grilles with hot rod culture. It's just a shame she did not get the recognition other starlets got, but that makes her more unique for us.

If you think she was a kook, or a freak, whatever, you cannot deny she was a true ICON, and her influence was far reaching to this day. I would venture to say half these young girls don't even really know who they are emulating when they dye their hair, cut the bangs, and try to look like a pin up... Or even how to spell her name!
