my dad has an efi 454 form a 97 3500 Cheyenne, and has an automatic trans from a 89 silverado that had a 350 to put in his bone stock, un cut 1931 model a. what all should we do to make the stock frame handle the weight as well as the torque? i know boxing, z-ing, different rearend, 4-link and hairpins are all in its future and what are your thoughts on the efi leav it or convert to carb?? sorry for all of the questions just need to know what direction to be looking in!! and thanks for the help in advance
Best thing to do is just start searching this forum for that type of information. Look around, search, and see what others are doing. Many people on here build frames for a living, and some do it on a smaller scale as needed. Look up frames on here and you'll see much of what you're looking for in them. As far as EFI vs Carb - KISS it... Carb could require 0 wiring to make it run.
