Holesaw lube for cutting aluminum, wax or oil?

    If you need ear protection while you're holesawing aluminum - you're running it WAY TOO FAST!!! When in DOUBT - run it as slow as you can - nothing will kill your holesaw faster than overheating it.

    I never tried the windex idea - but I will the next time.

    The thing you may want to consider is to drill a couple relief holes in your part. A relief being a small hole that is about tangent to your "slug". It will allow a path for the chips to escape when the teeth become buried in your part. It won't take but a minute to do and will make the holesawing go much easier.

    Bar soap works good it's easy to clean and smells fresh !

    I just get the fat girl from next door to rub all over the part,leaves enough graease for great cutting.Also highly exciting if your an old guy like me.

    I drill a 1/4 " pilot hole. Then use a hole saw with a straight 1/4 " rod instead of a bit. This keeps the center hole from enlarging due to the drill eating away at the center hole as you use the hole saw. It keeps the hole saw true and make a more accurate hole.
