Did a search for this on found nothing for Chevrolet.I am wanting to keep original rear end and run original stock dual wheels.I have a 36 Chevy 1.5 ton truck and want to convert to open drive shaft.I have seen the Ford conversion from Speedway and cannot find a similar setup for Chevy. Can anyone help with this?

Never seen one for a Chevy big truck rear. Can't imagine enough demand for it ever to have been produced. Find a newer rear with the same bolt pattern.

    from Mt. U.S.A.

On the 1 1/2 ton trucks you should measure your spring centers and a Dodge or Ford and even a later GM would bolt in and deal with the bolt circle later

I've seen the ends cut off the axle housing and welded to a later rear, allowing using a modern differential with the original hubs, brakes and wheels. This was done on a 50's Chevy truck rear to keep the ten-lug wheels but get highway friendly gears.

I have thought about this option. Also thought about using late model rear end and re-drilling bolt pattern.Just looking for the least expensive option I guess.

I would suggest you investigate tires to fit those wheels before getting committed too far. I have some old truck wheels that I just love, but tires to fit the wheels that would also carry the loads I want to haul don't seem to exist.

And if you can find tires that will work, you might investigate modifying the wheels to fit other axles.
