32 years old. Grew up on the east side of Dallas, been a car nut since birth. I grew up around a lot of kustoms and lowriders (old school one's with supremes, 30 spokes, lots of flake!). I have built and help build several cars but nothing I did got my blood really going until I was cruising CL one day and found a 1966 Chrysler Newport. Don't know and can't tell you why, but it brought back all the memories as a kid watching the cars roll down the street with the 'flake, pinner whites, and hydros. Sold my Chevelle that day and drove to Austin and bought the Newport. I know most people say that isn't the typical platform for a traditional style kustom, but weren't they really about doing something a little different back then anyways? Don't get me wrong, I love the Impalas, F-85's, Fleetlines, and Shoeboxes, but I wanted something that you just don't see everyday. Time and two small babies have kept me from doing too much to it yet, but it will come in time. I was able to locate a set of old school Supremes and I hoping for some fresh color in the spring. Glad to be on here with all the fellow like-minded enthusiast.
I thought I was the only one to see an F-85 every day! The car looks cool, those supremes make it. Welcome!
