Hey, I may be the "oldest Fart" so far to comment. (60 yrs old, 61 in February)
    I love it.
I've got a 63 with slight static drop (my avatar) and I just bought a 66 longbed fleetside that I'm gonna Z the front 4" and the rear 10"
I also have a 52 that's going on a standard cab longbed S-10 frame sometime next year.
    drop 'em in the dirt.

    I hear ya man.

I still don't like Donks or Dubs.

EDIT: Furthermore, I think we are all on the same page anyway. You're cool in my book.

Seems like I've seen a lot of billet on those ricers and mini trucks, and they weren't being driven by old farts.:D

Geez dude, you fuckin' paranoid or what?? Nobody gives a fuck about what you said, nobody is quoting you, nobody is referring to you, nobody cares what you think. People are here giving their own opinions, irrelevant to your post. Move on, get a life yourself.

  6. OK, No problem.

Nice truck. the super low look is not my favorite, but its not my car. I do remember show cars from the golden sahara era with angle hair and lakes pipes on the ground..one guy even set his pipes on the floor next to his car...it certainly is a traditional thing, and low cars are kinda neat from that perspective.

I really dig your truck! i am truck guy and just about anything I own, except for my 32 has to have bags on it. Nothing rides better, sits better, and is less maintenance to me! To anyone who is ragging on it, it is what it is! Makes me miss my old truck...
Layin running boards is the way to go...Nice truck man.

I haven't read the whole thread so shoot me down if you have already posted some, but, have you got any shots of what you did to the chassis? I'm building one of these ATM.

Looks horrible, better give it to me so you don't have to listen to people talk bad about it anymore, and if you ever build anything else like it i'll take that too. Not cause I really really like it and think its very well done, just to keep people from "bagging" on you about it.

i like it, but I like ADs. I have a spare frame that is set up for bags IFS front and possibly a 4 link rear if i get to it. I was planning on bagging my truck but decided to do a drop axle instead. I like it low (static) but some days I wish i could just slam it and drive an inch off the ground. but most roads here in the midwest get tore up in the winter and are filled with pot holes or construction all summer long.

I will hold onto my frame for a while and if I get another set of metal I'll have so crazy fun putting it on the ground.

as for your truck Knuckle I like it, A lot, and I have DUBS on my avalanche also to those who wonder. AND IM A COP. OXYMORON I think so!!!

    have fun, be yourself

  21. I like it,especially the chop! I think many of that era of pickups, look "awkward and out of proportion". You nailed it there. :D

So you went away not knowing how popular you are? ;)
Thanks for the periods Knuckelhead! They really do help old eyes and feable minds like mine.
Curious to see the body mods you talk of and how much it stirs the folks up. ;)
How does the little 250 with an auto trans move the truck along?

Maybe this has been asked already but I did not see it.

How does the rear axle flex? Say, only one wheel goes up. What allows the other wheel stay where it should be? I would think that the rear axle should not be the sway bar.

Looks like the traditional split wishbones on a banjo rear end which has a tendancy to break. Maybe this is a mini-truck thing that works. Just asking to learn.

it works just like any other suspension ,just like leafsprings or a 4 link ,or trailing arm. There are guys in my club that have had this same setup on there trucks going on 10-12 years now.I should add that since pictures i have added a track bar that goes from under the 2 link bar on the drivers side to the 2 link mount at the front on the passenger side. to help keep the rearend straight

I like your truck, very cool looking. I have raised the bed up on my '50. Instead of chopping off the bottoms of the front fenders as you have done, I want to raise them as well and section the hood. Not to add any more fuel to the air bag fire, but I like them and will install them on my truck when I can afford them.
