I was going thru my pics today and my dad had this car a while ago,he got rid of it---but do u guys know what it was??just curious
and just for the record i think im on here too much cuz i had a dream last night that i had put the 35 ford on here again, and you guys said basically "we get it it s for sale"just thought i d share that with ya
It does look like it might be an early Corvette underneath a lot of fibergl*** work. What's Dad say? I've heard of the Edsel having a "toilet seat" grille, but this car's rediculous.... it really looks like they used a toilet seat on it.
It looks a bit like a Facel Vega ,but I'm guessing that it is an aftermarket or home built gl*** body.La Dawri (not spelled right I'm sure) made some strange sports car bodies. Steve (V7)
Tell me I'm nuts.... It looks to me like a Dual Ghia that someone choped the fins off and tried to "edsel" the front end. The Ghia would have had the Chrysler Hemi for power. Of course, it may very well have been a "kit car" from the 50's, but just looking at the pic, I get the vibe of a car that someone started modifying and never finished, as opposed to a ground up build that was never completed...
he sold it like 3yrs ago,we did alot of reasearch tryin to find out exactly what it was---i mean he does know everything about anything car wise, but i figured id share it with you guys---i hope we dont find out it was like that car that went on ebay,,that old drag one that sold for over 200,000 lol it was years ago i forgot what he did exactly say about it,i ll find out--like i said i came across the pic on my computer and it reminded me---no i think he did say it was a kit car(i could be wrong ,ill find out)
You could have painted that thing green and sold it at auction as a super rare car and made thousands.
Not a LaDawri, but possibly one of the many other 'gl*** bodies available in that era, or a custom build. Those look like Ford hubcaps, maybe it was on a Tbird ch***is? Check out www.fibergl***sportscars.com you might find something there, I believe Geoff Hacker lurks here, this is his specialty! Cheers CraigR
Windshield definintely looks like early 'Vette. Headlamps and turnsignals remind me of bullet-nose Studdy pieces. . .everything else appears to be 'gl***.
If you like that one, tell me what this is/was. . .the owner told me, but just wondered what you could recognize. It was someone's kustom back in the late '50s/early '60s that was never finished. I was told that was a '50s Olds' engine also. It had a home-built ****** adaptor and cool 'drilled' frame (see rail ahead of engine).
