I have a vintage rupp kart, i was wondering what year it is, if its org, and what it is worth... Any kart experts out there thanks..
I have a set of vintage Rupp wheels made of finned aluminum inners and chromed steel outers that we are putting on my daughter's 70-80's kart to "back date" it a little. Her kart frame is constructed similar to your's, except for the high seat bar. I also have a finned aluminum disk brake I'm considering adding as well. I think it has H-H cast in it. Anybody recognize that name?
I raced Karts from '76 to '88. From what I remember what you have looks original for the most part. These were "vintage" when I started in 1976. As was mentioned earlier I don't seem to recall the high hoop on the seat back. Other than that the twin West Bends and everything else looks right. I believe Mickey Rupp was the manufacturer. Here's a pic of a different make, the Dart Kart:
had her for 18+ years. rode it when I was little, kart really hauled ***. they are 700 westbends, not alot of thes around, but would like to find out more info. this appears to be a 1959 rupp dart kart. the hoop looks to be org. did rupp do this???, any info on mickey rupp??
I raced karts in the late 50's & early 60's . Had a Maxwell kart we put a live axle on & Westbend 580,when the motor got tired we put on a 700 barrell & piston
I had a Hornet kart from Waco. Twin Clinton A490's My late cousin had a Mac kart with twin Mac 20's. Still have the Mac kart, hanging on the wall in the tool shed. Thanks, Mike
Got a "Go Kart" go kart , restored it for G***erkid about 20 plus years ago , now its hanging on the wall for G***erkid jr to get just a little bit bigger, just turned 3 .
I think the frames a yard kart with vintage west bends .The hoop is the killer ,race karts would never have high center weight . The steering wheel is 60s era .im restoring a hornet with macs and have other karts ,none like this design .c
