I'm having no luck finding center caps for my Mid 30's MOPAR Artillery wheel's any help from you guys that are running them?`I don't need expensive originals.. I'm willing to run baby moon style if anybody knows where I can find them...
I think I did a while back and never heard back from him, so I did'nt want to bother him again...I will try again..Ryan
You have to call him. He's too busy to answer emails or PM's. *****in' wheels. Who actually made those wheels? What was the sub-company? Anyone know?
I hope to finish the fronts here soon and get the tires mounted and get the ch***is rolling.... And the list keep's getting longer...lol
i'm looking for them too, for my ford bolt pattern artillery wheels, If I find out anything i'll send it your way.
hello you can use chevrolet baby moons for the rally wheel,it takes a little work just bend the wheel tabs and take a little material off the moon cap and pop it on. here is a pick of my ch***is,for more pics check out my web site sperlingbuilt.com http://
I'm putting these wheels on my '40 Chrysler, I have a set of junk '36 Plymouth stock caps and I am cutting the center rings out of the '36 Plym. caps and welding them to the inside ring of the '40 Chrysler caps, seems to work fine, although to do it you have to have a set of original caps to cut up. The baldie caps on 29bones' car look really good, I'm going for more of a stock look but on a rod I like what he's got going. Although it looks like he has 17" wheels which might be different.
My Budd artillery wheels take a cap which has an opening diameter of 7". There were two main types of wheels used on non Ford 1930s cars - Motor Wheel as shown above and Budd Mfg which have an open 'window' where the rim forms the third side of the window - see photo.
I have identical wheels on my '31. The caps are Plymouth and I was told by the PO the wheels are early thirties Plymouth/Dodge as well. There's a place on Preston HWY in Louisville that has tons of caps. E-mail me and I'll give ya the low down.
I have a set of plain baby moons from my 54 that I am not using on it. My plan was to modify them to fit as well, just seeing what everybody else has done. Scootrmcrad thatd a kick-*** build you have there...
I'm using the same wheels on my RPU. I'm using 32 ford caps. I had some junk wires (32-35) cut the mounting rings off of them and I'm going to weld to my Mopar centers. I had the Wheelkid change my hoops to 16x7 and 15x5.
I have a bunch of rims but no caps. I will be needing 8-10 caps Do you have a link for the chevy baby moons? Thank You Archie
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but looks like the info could be of use to everyone running artilleries, never thought about the rally caps, but I think mine have a bigger hub area than the mopar wheels. 29 Bones and Irs30, can you tell us the diameter of your wheel centers?
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312975 see my wanted add, all the deminsions are there...
Looks just like the wheels I just pulled off my '36 Dodge. I've got 7 with caps. These things worth something now?
Depends on the shape, some more than others and only worth something if someone needs them I guess...I will come pick them up from you...If your getting rid of them..
Oh yhea, tell me about it.. I will probably just modify a set of moons for this , unless I can find a set (INSERT BRAND NAME HERE)that fit...
I will keep an eye on this thread as I am also looking for a set of center caps for the exact same wheels.
I'm using the same wheels, mine are 17". I bought a set of Dodge caps and a set of Chrysler caps close to a size that I thought would work and neither set will fit. I like the look of the Chryslers the best so I'll probably try to modify them to work. I'll let the Dodges go if they'll help anybody. They are decent drivers with red Dodge lettering straight across.
