Customs Show me your kool Mercs

Like GM 80s passenger car diesel? I remember those motors not being so hot, but man what a cool idea this could present, a Merc project on a trailer, being towed by another Merc!

 

Diesel?? I didn't know that. I guess it will be a future barn find for somebody. I just saw
the Merc that weekend and I hadn't seen any pictures or video of it since then. Thanks
for the info.

Wow! I was just looking for my pictures of that merc the other day, believe it or not. Mick, I took the same pictures at the same show. How I come I didn't know you then? You couldn't miss me....I was tall, skinny and had poofy hair. LOL.

I remember talking to the owner about it for a while. Age being what it is, memory is not what it was. LOL. But, I think most all of it was late 70's, early 80's Cadillac.

 

I think the guys name was George West.Hes dead.The car had a 77 Caddy rear bumper and it was diesel powered.It was from Missouri.

 

I don't know how we missed each other........I was still short and I had more hair then
pounds back then. I drove a hot pink (yep it was the 90s) '55 Chevy 4dr and I was
there every year but the first few shows....... I thought that I had some more pictures
of the Merc just kan't find them.

Thanks for the info...... I wish that I would have seen it more often.

My Freind Finnished Building a couple of weeks ago & Sold it on ebay the Merc is going
to FL.
its a 49 Mercury 4 door made into a 2 dr.

Sorry to say Mike I've never noticed your skirts before.....Very Kool!!

I may have to borrow the idea, I like how you extended the bottom of the skirt.
You have the advantage of the bubble skirt by making the Merc look lower without
the buldge of the bubble.

Wow, your 51 moredoor looks like it was "loaded" with every option. Do you know if that vinyl top was a factory option?

 

I think it was, it still has a strip across the front of the roof where it was attached.The previous owner removed it.The car is all original, except for the 4in lowering blocks.

 

Here is my families Merc. It is not a custom, but what is under the hood that makes it special....

 

This car is still kicking around, Ive seen it a few times at our local cruise nights, its burgundy and has been for a few years and looks a bit rough around the edges now. Once the cruise night season starts up I'll see if I can talk to the owner and get more info.
