Need some help from anyone! My dad built this anglia and raced it in the late 60's & early 70's at Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Ardmore, and at Greenvalley. He sold it around 1977 maybe late '76, at the time we lived in Garland, TX. It apparently went somewhere around Ft. Worth- Richland Hills area. I have seen the fiberglass front end, rear fenders, & deck lid, all with original paint at a couple of the swap meets around Dallas/ Ft. Worth area over the years. I am trying to find the car and would like to get it back. You know the drill "restore it" if at possible. Has anyone seen it or know its where-abouts from the last 25-30 years or so?
that pic of it coming up the return road , looks almost like my old one... good luck on the search , as it looked like a bitchin ride....
Been watching one behind a house in my neighborhood. If you can't find yours PM me. Solid and could be bought right.
Mike, I remember your dads car, but man I hav'nt seen it in years. Seems like I saw it last at Kennedale in the min 80's. Hutch would let me come in a do testing with my TAD. back then. He (Hutch) would usually show up at the shop 3 or 4 times a week and we would go to lunch and tell lies back in the 80's. It is probably lost with both of the front engine top fuel cars (Langley's last car The Scorpion VI and The Peebles and Williams second to last (Don Long car with hanna Mag body) T/F car from 1968. I had the P&W car in my posession until 1978 and let it get away. I have been searching for for both of these cars for the last 10 years with no luck off of a few deadend leads. I will be in your area (Sachse) on the 13 th. for the old geezer dragracers reunion on Dec.13th. The B/S always gets about knee deep at the reunions, if you can believe that. HA. We get together once a year now because most of us are getting on in age and it seems we are losing 4 or 5 every year now. I understand Mabry had another stroke but pulled through okay again. 408 AA/D
"I have seen the fiberglass front end, rear fenders, & deck lid, all with original paint at a couple of the swap meets around Dallas/ Ft. Worth area over the years." did you buy these parts when they came up????
I left a business card, never saw anyone around the trailer, went back several times though. the last time was at one of the Arlington swap meets about 7-8 years ago. I never had much money back then either, going through devorce at the time also. Ain't that the way it always happens, seems we give it up over women then when their not around anymore, we can't get because of women. Now I gots a good one. I guess I could build a copy, but it isn't the same as having the one you played in as a kid!! That old stuffs still out there, just where?
Met up with Gene Gaddy (chassis builder from Dallas) at the drag racer reunion in Sachse on DEC. 13. He remembers my dads anglia and says he thinks that the guy who bought it was named Rick Green. This Rick Green worked for Gene at one time, anyone know who or where to find him. It's a start?
