303 or 324 Olds with a Dual Range Hydramatic. Best of all worlds and no fakey valve covers needed.

If you go with one of those Caddy 4/6/8 engines it will be odd..and you'll get a great amount of experience in engine repair and building..

May even get the odd ball to run..for awhile

I like the idea of 'Henry Floored' and the carb'd Modular Ford engine. I like the Hemi look and the modern appeal of the Ford in a Ford. A little more info on these please!
I'm not much on opening the hood at functions and I also have toyed with the idea of putting the Chevy 5.3 in. My 05 GMC has all sorts of power and you can't beat the dependability and mileage it produces. Not the prettiest of motors but would be fun.
Buick nailhead, Oldsmobile Rocket are also desirable options and I wouldn’t turn down a Hemi also.

    Jeezus...

Well if you want to do something really different, that pretty much leaves out the V8... go with a flathead six/eight if different is all you're looking for.

  16. Ford? 300 ford six. hands down the best engine ever built by the bue oval. Will woop most V8s , makes huge power. Lots of stuff available, Inexpensive. Looks great. Always draws a crowd and fits anywhere a small block Ford will except no inteference with steering. 300 to375 HP available using relatively mundane parts.

With the comments of hotdamn and Lee I bought a 401 nailhead out of a 64 Rivera and it came with the trany for only $250. Love the looks of these old motors and understand they have torque as well. Sounds fun!

i'd say a nailhead, cadillac, or go crazy and find a 413 Max Wedge!!!:D that'd definitely be sweet!
