    Hi,

I'm replacaing the lower/inner bushigns on my front control arms, and wanted to make sure i do this right. These are the metal on metal kind. Should i just grease them up and screw them on? or put them on dry than grease them through the fits? Do you just install them tight, or should i ues the torque wrench? Any ideas on Torque specs?

    Thanks,

    Chris

put grease on them first, then lube them after you install them. Might be a torque spec in the factory shop manual, or there might not, I dont have it...but you should get them tight.

The book says 150-200 ft lbs torque.

You do realize there's more to it than just screwing them in? The A frame has to be centered on the pivot bolt with the adjustable bushings. That has to be right to be able to set the wheel alignment with the other adjustments.

Nope, I've never worked with this kind of suspension. This is the info i was looking for. Whats a good way of doing this in my garage without alignment tools? Good thing I asked!

    Thanks for all help!

I'll scan some of the Motors Manual pages on front end service for the 35-53 poncho, pm me with your email address you want them sent to, and I'll email them to.
