Just kidding!!! Since I grew up in an area where cars rusted badly, back in school most of our floorboards were made from street signs, (Yes, stolen ones!) Dave
Just took some pics today and point-welded the rearaxel stiff. The car will be about 4-5" high'r in the rear with the Big tires.
That is an awesome build you got going. I just saw it today for the first time. That thing is sick! I hope it's alot of fun when it's tits down. Very cool. You might wanna spread the front radius rods and mount them to the frame, and reinforce them. That middle mount buggy set up might send you into a wall if you decide to drag it. Just my ignorant unsolicited opinion. Sorry (I don't know everything, so get some second opinions their are plenty of people on here that do know)
I was hoping you had bigger tires for it, I thought you guys said you had them but they didn't work or something.
We hade to change rearaxle to make them work (To tight over the diskbrakes). Discovered that the rims need some welding tough the previus owner and welder dit a bad job cause the rims leeks air trough the seam where the where widened. Rims are 16" wide and tires are 18,5 " wide
This is gonna be one sick ride when it is finished. All this anticipation is killin me.I can't wait to see those big Ol fatties stickin out from under that thing and the engine settin between the rails.Awesome build fellas!
I think too wide of a tire will make it look hacked up. You did a lot of fab work to keep that from being the case. Taller, maybe. Alot wider, no way. Opinions are like buttholes, sometimes they stink. That little f*#ker sure looks mean.
Sorry it wont look this cool tough. The rear tires will only stick out like 5-6" on each side. Hope u dont will be disaponted?
Here we go! Fresch new pics from todays work. Today we made the frontend flip-able. We used the original hood hinges cause the hood originaly is tilted forward. We cut them up and welded them on the flip and on to the 1 1/4x1 1/4 square pipes that will go in the 1 1/2x1 1/2 square pipes (fitting like a glove) we have welded in the frame rails. We can now move the front end 10" forward and tilt it up or just remove the hole flip in just 15-20 seconds. We also had to try on One of the rear tires so we could se where the new stance on the car was. Sorry about those bad cellphone pics?
Wow, It's great to see your progress. The stance is perfect and the back tires sit just right. Are you going to leave the side rear glass or make it a sedan dilivery?
Hey Norrland! It's great fun to see something happening in the Hälsingeforests! I live in Bollnäs myself, just a couple of km's away. I'd love to see my own 56 Ford turn into a gasser. But i dont have the energy to do it. Great pics and keep up the good work. See you on the road.
