12 bolt electrical system... do I need a 12 bolt rear end?

  7. After reading through this, everyone has forgotten one important item. Change the volume knob on your stereo. It will now have to go to 11, after the conversion, 10 just won't cut it anymore...........

  9. I tried that conversion...spent days struggling...finally found the problem...I was using a metric crescent wrench.

    Just remember though guys before you do any work on boltage make sure your nuts are in hand

    And don't forget to disconnect your water pump before working on your electrical system, as the blinker fluid can contaminate your coolant causing your muffler bearings to burn up.

    When converting to 12 you need longer bolts. With higher boltage you don't want a short.

    It really doesn't matter 6 bolts or 12 bolts just please make sure to install new muffler bearings or it will overheat big time, Duh...Merry Christmas
