I'm planning on making my own 32 grille insert for my 4 inch chop grille. Show me your grille insert. What material did you use? Even if it's not yours and it looks good, post it!

check out circle city hot rod pics, there was just a post on 31 coupe they built with a aluminum insert with some flared holes punched in it that looked good, also try a search there was a post a while back where a guy made one with some material he picked up at home depot and used some brake line to make the surround that looked pretty good ! heres a pic of mine , not custom but chopped 7 and 1/2 inches

Sorry this is a ****py shot but...I was feeling sorry for ya that nobody wants to play along. I fit 1/2" flat steel inside the grill shell. Then I started with one 3/16 rod in the center and went to the outside using a paint mixing paddle as a space guide. Right or wrong that how I did it.

Evel - I really like the way yours sits in the shell a ways. I tried that with my new stock grill and it didn't look right.

I used 3/8 SS rod for the frame and 5/32 rod for the bars. Made a jig for spacing.

Did I miss the Disk brakes too?:D:D

Just kidding, that grille shell is so ****ery Evel. Definitely stands out in a crowd and I like the way it's pushed out. Never knew there was a purpose besides just looking rad.
