Pipes...look at those pipes!! Lets see your headers

    Im looking for ideas for my headers on the 37. looking for pics of open headers, lakes etc. Also Im putting a 6-71 blown 350 in it. how freaking loud do you think its gonna be without mufflers? obnoxious? liveable? any traditional race muffler ideas? Im goin for a late 50's early 60's look. heres a pic of the truck the rear pipe is going to go through the front part of the cowl that sticks out from the firewall as the motor is set way back

    I see you are from ottumwa Iowa, I grew up in oskaloosa, do you know ken stek? he was my hot rod mentor. Shorty Clark? that was my dad.

    Tell me more about these "Samson Baffles"


     
  8. Samson baffles look like a perferated tubes 8" long and have a welded nut on one end so that it can be bolted inside the pipe.

    The baffles are directional so that it creates an anti-reversion flow to the exhaust while melowing out the exhaust volume.

    On Zoomies it can get expensive at $39 each... however I got mine from a "Custom Motorcycle Shop" that has been replacing them with more expensive baffles and these were the "Left-overs" at a couple bucks each!

    I see them on ebay for $28 new but never in bulk... be aware that they come in different diameters and lengths.
