  4. The "thing" on the Cadillac rear fender is the intake for the rear Climate Control. On Fleetwood Seventy-Fives from the mid-fifties onward until 1977, they had a separate and distinct rear Climate Control. This operated completely independent of the front Climate Control, even on the models that had no division window (known as 9 passenger sedans). The unit was decidedly NOT aftermarket, and had no tubes running up the rear window, those tubes were for the lesser Cadillacs with air before about 1957. In the main, the cool air came out of the ceiling, and warm air came out from under the door armrest. The only control was a thumbwheel behind a panel in the right rear interior trim.
Now you know more than you ever wanted to know about this.
    You're welcome.

Holy shit, I mean HOLY SHIT, what a find. It's a shame when someone sit's on that much nice old tin and won't sell, Im surprised they didn't get scrapped when steel prices went thru the roof this past summer, oh well, at least mother nature's been nice to them.

  9. Yep, that is the strange part....letting them get crushed????
Thanks for the post....it just shows that it "takes all kinds of folks" to make up the world.

The 4th picture, grille of a truck. I believe that is a Federal and i happen to need the historical document for one of them. The one i have is missing the VIN tag, you couldn't ask could you? I been searching for a while now and mine won't be ready until next spring but having a Vin tag would take a load off my little mind. Thanks, oj

There are places like this all over the country. I know of several here in Nebraska and in eastern Colorado and have heard of them in Kansas too. If I had the place and the money I'd hord them too. Some people live in fancy houses and drive facy cars. This guy live in a shit box and drives a shit box and has a lot of old cars.

Cool to see there is still some old iron out there. Great pics, did enjoy, good luck on the coupe would be great to see something done with it some day. Came across a personal yard like that here in M.O. lots of A's and rust but still cool!

It's a shame you can't get your hands on some of that stuff. I have the same problem as that guy though. If I never bought anything else, I'd probably never see them all finished. I'm still looking for the next one...

Cool pics though! Hope you get that coupe, standards are my favorite.

Theres plenty of old iron still out there, but getting them to sell it is another story.

067Chev, pretty sure I cruised by the place a few times going to college (used to go wander and car hunt)
    Neat pics.
There's a lot of stashes like that around, sadly though most arent for sale or they want $$$$$ for junky parts!

I love looking at pictures of old yards, but when you hear nothing for sale, i wish i never would have looked. Buy the time he kicks off, and the relatives get done fighting, it will all be junk. Sad.

The best part of stuff like that in those areas is that is usually RUST FREE. My dad brought truck loads of great stuff back from northern Kansas back in the late 80's. Most of the stuff was "not for sale" to outsiders. He had a friend who was an electrician in the area, and he knew all the old farmers and their stashes. He was able to get my Dad in with them, and get him stuff CHEAP!

What year Studebaker is that, I want a set of them tail lights for my Rat?????

  29. They don't look much different from '39 Chevy or half a dozen other late 30s lights.

Let these guys hoard, it makes the ones you can actually buy that much harder to find (and thus worth a little more $$$) ...
