lookin for some help on how to llift the front end of my 55 f100 with the stock straight axle and stock steering setup tryn to set it up like an old g***er because i never seen one done like a g***er. but i tryn to stay away from using blocks under the springs if anyone has some advice would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to do my truck up with a straight axle and leafs and stuff, but I think its a bit 'disrespectful' almost... its a '94
If you don't want to use lifting blocks or longer shackles then the next best option would be to have some arch added to your leaf springs. There are many g***er-related threads here. Do a search and you'll probably some more answers. Here's one thread to get you started, featuring a '60 F-100 which will be quite similar to your '55 in the front end department: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260685&highlight=front+lift+straight+axle
I think a stock '55 F100 is high enough without any additional lifting. How about a slight lowering of the rear end and a stock height nose?
Loose the stock Cast axle and go to a Strait Tube axle. No need to re work the steering and would raise the Truck 3 or 4 inches, what ever the stock step is from spring pad to King pin boss. Plus it would look more correct. The Wizzard
