This is a picture of me standing in front of one of my projects. This truck sat behind some guys garage here in town for twenty years. He would chase away anyone who asked him if it was for sale. I stopped and talked to him several times and made no progress. He would say that he was going to fix it up someday and that he was born the same year as this truck, so he just couldn't part with it. I think we have all met guys like this. They have cool stuff and it is just rusting away. There is cool stuff all over this country that can't be had because of this kind of mindset. To make a long story short I was able to catch this gentleman on the right day and he sold me this truck at a great price. It was a basket case when I got it. I boxed the frame, built an engine for it, and did a lot of rust repair on the body. It has a long way to go, but it is a labor of love. My latest project is a 1928 Model A Sedan. I have a set of 1934 Ford 17" spoked wheels to put on it. I plan on removing the four link front end and installing a split wishbone. I have a 283 tripower motor and plan on putting an overdrive manual ****** in it. I want to build a car that is for the most part vintage 1960. I guess we will see how it goes. I am glad to be on the HAMB. I always get great info from the posts here.
Sweet truck! I am working on a '32 myself. Check out the box truck *******s social group. Welcome to the HAMB and old trucks rule...
I always planned on going back and showing the truck to the guy I bought it from, but I haven't yet. I guess when the snow quits falling I should go look him up.
