To keep everyone updated on my Star Chief project - Richard at rodders choice (www.rodderschoice.com) in Santee finished up my car about a month ago. About 40 hours of body work to cut out all the rust and patch it up. Then I took it straight over to Abe and Tony at San Diego Rod and Custom (www.sandiegorodandcustom.com) to lay some paint on her.

We went with a matte black with some house of kolor candy apple green metalflake scallops. They will be finished up with some pinstriped outlining in white. The thing looks amazing. The quality of work both of these shops do is just amazing.

Have a set of Firestone bias ply 3" white walls on the way, and getting a set of some crossbar hubcaps, and she'll be ready to roll.

Now all I need is to redo the brakes, suspension, engine, trans, interior.....

At least she'll look good on the outside! Finished pics will be up asap.

Just picked it up from the shop last night. You won't believe this paint job. Abe, Tony, the Painting by Benji and Striping by Manuel over at SDRC went above and beyond on this one. The pinstriping and colors are just amazing. I'll try to get some pics if I get home before dark tonight. You have to see it in the sunlight to get the full effect.

If you guys are anywhere near SD - I would absolutely recommend getting over there to see them for anything you need done on your ride.

If I don't make it home in time to get pics, I'll be pretty busy for the holidays, and will update this thread as soon as I get the pics taken.

Ok - got some pics. It has been cloudy and rainy so you can't really see the paint pop like it does in the sun, but at least you can see the amazing job these guys did on my ride.

    Here are some pics:

    a few more...

I can't say it enough - you guys should check out www.SanDiegoRodandCustom.com, talk to Tony or Abe. This just turned out 10x better than anything I expected. All I did was tell them I wanted it flat black with scallops, they took it from it there. I hadn't even thought of pinstriping or anything.

    Just a really satisfied customer.

    What do you guys think?!

Looks good. I like the roof treatment (from what I can see) as well.

Now, you just need to lower that bad boy and go cruisin'!!!

Thanks Chief, thats the plan. A 2" drop, throw my wide whites on there (should be here monday, already ordered them), add some new hub caps, and drive the thing till it blows up. Glad you guys are as stoked on it as I am.

Merry Christmas everyone! And LowChief - thanks again for that Shop manual. You don't know how many times I have used that thing!

Thanks, I'll definitely keep everyone updated. Since I got this ride I think I've been on the HAMB every single day. Couldn't have done half the stuff I have without the help and advice of HAMB members.
