Nice pics. At first, I'm thinking is that a '56 Chevy? Then see the side bump, and think is it a Ford? Then see the fins and think WTF? Then see Perth Motorplex, and slap myself in the head. Thanks

 

That is Byron Dragway in Illinois probably 2006, Steve Blue (pictured) won the wheelstand contest that year I believe. Thanks Brian(Merry Christmas)

After spending the last week pounding through all these terrific pics; I am guilted into joining you and tossing a few on the pile. Below is an original build photo of the 442TOO Much! by Jim Lutz and Myron Lundberg. Members of the Torquers club, they built this '66 Olds to go set a few records..which they did in with a blown 400 block and later a blown 455 (nitro, underdrives combos galore). The next pic was taken shortly after it's rediscovery. A buddy of mine was doing some mock-up work for the zoomie style headers. We pushed it outside during a late fall day in central MN and snapped this photo. You can see where they modified the openings, etc...Great car with great stories. I met Jim Lutz only a handful of times, once when he was still racing his Fiat at BIR in the late 90's, the other after his racing days at an National Olds Event. Great man from a generation full of fearless pilots. I have other photo's and will post later...cheers. RBR.
